I got my Bosch reseal kit the other day and am going to fix that slow leak I have before it gets any worse. I also ordered a 366 gov spring. I decided not to put that in just yet since I haven't gotten any gauges to baseline my truck with yet. I'll do that later.
My question: Since I'm R+R ing my old pump, is there really any need to put the engine at TDC? I was planning on rotating it to get the pump key on the topside of the shaft before pulling the pump so as not to lose it in the motor. The only marks I was going to pay attention to were the pump marks. Someone has already set this pump about a 1/16th above stock and I was going to do the same.
Am I wrong about this?
