Does anyone know of where to buy a vent window seal for a 1992 W250? I have been looking for hours on the internet and cannot locate one for the first gen vent window. Mine are too old to repair. Thanks for your help.

Wow. Everything I can find stops @ 86 for some reason. On Monday I can check with a buddy at my Dodge Dealer to see if he knows anything.

'86 should be the same as a '92. Only thing that really changed since '72 was the body lines until '94.

I went to the dealer today. Something did change in 87. The part numbers do not match or cross. The problem is they are both discontinued at the dealer.

NAPA or (although I do not like this option) places like JC Whitney...

Can also check with Doorman. They may have.

If you mean Mopar Parts, then yes. I don't think who sale mopar is a website. And BS, dodge does not have it in stock. So you are wrong also. If you would have read a few posts above you would have noticed as I did that they are discontinued from the dealer. What I'm am trying to do is find useful information on my quest for vent window seals. I guess culling out all the bogus reply's is part of it. Trying not to sound mean but I guess I'm just tired of all the worthless info of "hey try this site... . www.walmart.com". I'm looking for people who have actually bought this item and where they got it. Not just "Hey try here" because 99% of those people just like to see their own post.

Mopar, Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep parts wholesale prices

How's this work for you. . Every post I make is out of a true concern for fellow 1st gen owners. I'm sorry to waste your time, but If I were looking, and I got this heads up, I think I would have appreciated it, even if it turns out to not have been useful. It does not make sense to me to chastise anybody who makes a sincere effort to help.

Phillip,

I am very sorry for providing out of date info for you. It was not intentional to mislead you in any way. Please except my apology. I can assure you, my post was not "because I like seeing my own post". I have been in your shoes many times. I fully understand how hard it is to get accurate info when looking for discontinued parts.

Also, I can vouch for most of the folks on this board. They ARE here to help others and very few of them post just to see it. I know other boards may have folks that just blow hot air, but as you are new here, I do not expect you to know the members here. Most here are very genuine with a want to help others.

Sorry for taking this thread off topic. Back to finding Phillip the parts he needs.

Robert

P. S. I did purchased a new set from my dealer not that long ago. Hence the reason I was suggesting your dealer.

Ok B, Then you would have a part number and dealer price. Who is this dealer and how long ago did you buy them. That is more of the useful information that I need.

I just remembered about Steele Rubber. But like everywhere else, they only list 86 and older.
Dodge Connection only has 86 and older also.

The more I look into this, the more frustrating it becomes. I can find every door seal except for the vent window. The door seal was the same from 80-93. But the vent window was from 78-86.
I know you don't want to hear this: I don't think you are going to be able to find this seal.
I will keep looking.

That's a nice website for older items John. Sent a email and got a response that they only have 86 and older. Must have redesigned the 87 and up vent seal.

I think your right JHumphries. I didn't think this was going to be that big of a deal but I was wrong again.

Howdy Phillip,

Might want to give these guys a shout. I have bought muscle car parts from them before and have always been very well satisfied. They took the time to talk and listen. Wing Vent Seals: Dodge Truck &amp Weather Stripping

What confuses me though is that they list no 'right' or 'left' part numbers for these seals, and list the range of years up through '93. This is why I would definitely talk to them and explain what you've found for fitment of model years. For the life of me, I just can't picture a change though. I've had a number of Dodge trucks from '72 to '89 and can't come up with what might have changed. It may be as minor as a rivet hole, just don't know. Anyway, give them a shout and good luck.
