Very Unhappy with "Flo-Pro" Exhaust...

I just got done installing my Flo-Pro 5" exhaust system and have discovered that it has a very loud terrible drone to it. :(

It also slightly rubs on the spare, and rides on the side of crossmember under the transmission :(

Before this system I had a straight pipe that exited in front of the back tires, I could not even hear my exhaust (have Dynamat Extreme on whole back of cab) unless I was realy on the go pedal.

I plan on trying to rework the far front exhaust hanger so that the exhaust won't press on the cross member.

For the drone I was thinking about a Donaldson resonator or muffler, any recomendations?

I was also thinking of just putting a piece of pipe in place of the muffler (never could hear the exhaust with my straight pipe and Dynamat) but don't want to p*ss off the law or the neighbors...

Is it just me or is this Flo-Pro system not very well engineered?

STRAIGHT PIPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a diesel the law shouldnt mind. Well at least ive not had any problems and Im on the skinny pedal alot!!! It sounds good off the stop light between the buildings!!!! and YES one of the buildings is the city police station!! Ive seem em outside talking to eachother and still mashed the pedal to hear it roar. They just looked. There arnt alot of bombed or loud diesels in the area so im sure by now I would have been picked out and pestered. You will get alot of comments with the exhaust too! I just had a guy compliment me today when I was at the post office. :D

I have the FLO PRO and I had the hanger's reworked at a shop and they raised the system up to proper level.

The sound was deafening with just their muffler.

I bought a 5" resonator from RIP ROOK and had that installed, now the drone is all but gone. :D

I feel your pain!

I run the 34" Donaldson straight thru and even with my stacks it totally eliminated the drone and it sounds awesome.

Have you contacted Pro Flow?

I had the same experience with MBRP & they are trying to help.

The resonator they sent cut it almost in half, I'm still trying to kill the other half... ... ... ... ... ... ...

I don't realy want to jack with them..... I will try and get them to cover the cost of a donaldson resonator, if they will not I will just straight pipe it.

I had zero drone with a straight pipe dumping in front of the back tires!!

I know that resonators are meant to get rid of drone, so if I take off the muffler and replace it with a resonator I should not have any drone??

Cummins Thunder,

Thanks for the feed back, I was wondering if it was just me or everyone had the same input. We got one of their systems to check it out and had the same thoughts you have. We have stayed with our current supplier on 5 inch and the MBRP for all the 4 inch systems because of fit finish and ease of installation etc.

Mark @ DPPI

Hey Mark, Don't you dare change 5" suppliers!!! i sell the poop outa them systems (Just ask Cory... :-laf :-laf ) they are by far the best 5" systems i have yet to find. I have a couple

of the 5" mufflers of those systems due to guys wanting straight pipes if i can help anybody out.

Thanks, Scott@

After seeing this a couple of other posts, I am really beginning to wonder about going to the 5" Flo Pro system. I currently have the Banks Monster 4" and used to run it without a muffler and loved it - a little too noisy when towing the 5er, so put muffler back on...

I like the htought of the 5" system maybe lowering EGT, but is it worth it. I found a decent price for it, but I am also concerned about it being too close to my PacBrake air bags???
