Thanks.
Wow...that lengthy thread was a menagerie of interjections and opinions. Pretty informative and only got derailed a couple times too. Its a bummer no one was ever able to find out what the noise is either... At first while reading I was going to say its a DMF problem but then there's guys with auto's who said they have the same noise.
That said, it seems to be something only a certain range of 3rd gen trucks experience with the Fluidampr. I'm checking around to see if there's anything else out there but so far nothing.

I, for one, like my Fluidampre. I saw an immediate decrease in engine vibration (yes the stocker was shot). I have over a half million miles on it with no complaints.

I remember that thread. Very interesting read. To the best of my memory, Fluidampr never came up with a cause or solution, did they?

I just had fluid dampers installed on both of our trucks. Didn't notice a lot of difference of any kind but after 17 years running the same OEM dampers, I did not want to take the risk of one of those OEM dampers failing. Peace of mind has a value all its own. Just ask those who decided to do the KDP mod on their engines. Probably didn't notice any difference but obtained the peace of mind of not waiting for the front timing case and valve train to grenade.
If the original damper was in good shape you will not notice much of an improvement.

I'd start with tire balance. I had a tough time finding someone that could balance my tires. Once I did it was night and day better. I learned that the holes bored through the Longhorn wheels I'm running are not true centered. The wheel needs to be mounted to the balance machine by the wheel studs then and only then will it turn true.
I have to ask when do you feel the vibration? Reason I ask is way back when in 1991 I had the flex plate fail between the engine and transmission. Also had a truck that had a strange vibration that ended up being the "U" joints in the front axle by the wheel hubs.
