VICTUM of Circumstance! (I live Another Day)

Well It all started about 3:38 PM today when I brought the snoblower back to the shop. I wheel up and open the shop door and shut down the machine ... resulting in a HUGE Backfire. AT THE SAME TIME a guy was walking his dog in the parking Lot 20 feet away and had slipped on the ice and fallen. The resulting fall made him start to scream and writhe in pain from a compounded leg fracture .



Well at THAT same moment a police officer in the next parking lot came running tward me weapon drawn to my chest @ 12 Feet (Sig Sauer P229 Serial # XXXBlah Blah) ... YES THAT CLOSE! I Yell HOLSTER YOUR WEAPON!!!!!!!! :-{}



WHO's The SHOOTER!!!! Yelled the Cop





NOBODY! I Yelled



I HEARD SHOTS FIRED he yelled



IT WAS A BACK FIRE! I yelled



WHO WAS SHOT? He yells



NOBODY! I Yell



Meanwhile the guy is SCREAMING in PAIN



DUDE... ..... HELP HIM OUT



With that he holsters and we spring into action.

Let me ask you this if I may pose a question to ponder on! Did he fall before you shut the snowblower off or was his fall the result of having the s*** scared out of him when the snowblower backfired having thought somebody shot him? Maybe you best look around and see if there is anybody around you close when you shut that machine off. :--)

Don't be to sure on that one. When my VP44 was giving me fits we were driving back from Utah and going through the Eisenhower tunnel in Colorado and I had a backfire that didn't sound like a gunshot, it sounded like an artillery round. I had the wife watching in the mirror for exhaust smoke as that was when the vp44 started on the fritz(though at that tiime I didn't know what it was just trying to get home) and it backfired in there. Gauranteed half the people in that tunnel needed a new change of shorts. Wife said that flame came out about 2 feet and was confirmed by our daughter and boyfriend who were directly behind us. He called over the radio and wondered if the truck was still running after that explosion he thought the engine grenaded and confirmed the huge flame out the exhaust.



By the way TMTT does the weird tihs cloud follow you around or do you follow it around. Thankfully the officer didnt shoot first and ask questions later.

Somebody should get a 'sniff' inside the CAN-BUS communications when their truck backfires from a bad VP-44.



I want to see if I can reproduce this function.
