2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Vin On Engine Or Frame?

Does Dodge Put The Vin Number Anywhere On The Frame Or Engine. I Was Looking At A Total Burn And The Vin Is Not Readable On The Dash Or Door And Was Wondering What Options The Chasis Has. I Could Have The Local Dodge Dealership Tell Me The Gears And Options Of Vehicle If I Had A Vin. Let Me Know. Thanks

I don't know the answer on the VIN but if it hasn't been tossed while someone change the differential fluid then there should be a metal tag attached to one of the cover bolts on the differential that says what the gear ratio is.
