Shrimpy, thanks for defending us here in California

The electricity situation here really isn't as complicated as the press wants everyone to believe. There hasn't been any new power plants built in many years, many torn down thanks to the wacko enviormental groups and the demoncrats.
Meanwhile, the states population has increased dramatically and consumption far exceeds supply that is generated in the state. The price controls limit what can be charged for electricity to consumers but there are no controls for what the suppliers can be charged by the wholesellers.
Doesn't take a Rhoades scholar to figure out why things are such a mess.
The same people in the govt who created the problem (the demoncrats) now want to be in charge of fixing it, now that scares me. The demoncrats won't even talk about the obvious solution, which is building more power plants.
While I'm sure a 50 percent increase in many people's elect bill will hurt, they have no choice but to pay it or turn off a few lights at night. My light bill last month was 60 dollars so if it goes to 90 dollars next month, BFD.
I don't think the other states should even be involved except for the one's who are gouging our suppliers for the power we need to purchase.
