ssheby,
Thanks for the info, I thought the dealer prep charge was BS, but was told I would be charged regardless if they performed the service or not. I was told their dealer prep used to consist of a glaze coating, undercoating and Scotch Guarding, but customers where complaining they did not want it. So they decided the customer would benefit better by this "thourough" inspection, etc (yea right, just another angle to pull in some additional profit). I'm sure Dave Smith makes out very well with the factory kick-backs, etc from the volume he sells, so why charge the customer for some BS dealer prep package (even if they do not want it done)??? Got me to wondering about Dave Smiths integrity and if any "hidden" costs would pop up when sighing the final papers. This was probably the only negative thing I noticed about Dave Smith, well except for the "differences of opinion" I had with the warranty manager over an issue with the rear brake shoes when the rear axle seals failured (whole other story, but was last time I went back). I notice you are a fleet sales manager. My understanding is you would sell me a truck for cheaper than one of your "regular" sales people. Is that true? So when a person walks into a dealer and a sales person approaches them, you say I'm sorry I will not do buisness with you I want to talk to the Fleet sales Manager because they can sell me a truck for cheaper since they do not work on comission??
I will keep you in mind when I get closer to purchasing and start "price shopping".
Is there a web site for Melton Sales in Claremore, OK??
