Yesterday I noticed my engine surging real hard when I would come out of a gear to stop. It did it so much I even put out puffs of black smoke. It only does it when it's hot outside. I have also noticed my starting problem getting progessivley worse. It's now to the point that parking down hill or bumping the starter to get the lift pump to run doesn't help none. I can kill it a McDonalds drive thru and try to start it 10 seconds later and it take forever to start. I think the VP is on it's way out, it may have a cracked diaphram or something. My fuel pressure is 13-14psi at idle and 8 psi WOT with a new relocated lift pump. What do yall think? HRVP time???? Thanks yall

Eric

Next step is to check codes with a scan tool. You might get lucky and just have a sensor going bad.

Maybe youre just having a problem with the IAT or MAP sensor. . Good luck!
