I think my VP44 is on the way down. The truck will miss sometimes and will shut off sometimes with no warning. Is the Blue Chip pump really worth the extra cash of is there another rebuilder with a long lasting pump with their kind of reputation?

Thanks for any assistance.

I had the same problem back at the beginning of the year, I contacted Blue Chip they helped me with the diagnostics and it turned out to be my VP44. They have some self checks on their web page that you can try first. I ended up buying their Special X pump, it is well worth the money. If you need help after the purchase, you can email or call them and they are very willing to assist you with any concerns. Bottom line, I will never buy another pump from anybody but them. Hope this helps. Good Luck with the pump.

I had my LP fail a couple years ago, then had a WIF issue. Finally, the VP took a turn for the worst. A close friend of mine told me to contact South East Power out of Florida. Still running that VP and running strong to this date. If interested, PM me for further details...

X3 for the Blue Chip Special X..... I did their pump just after doing an AirDog and haven't looked back since!! You won't be dissapointed.

Bluechip Diesel's Injection Pumps

Yes, I purchased a Special X injection pump from Bluechip diesel. Curt Fisher is a very knowledgable man, and HE KNOWS those Vp44's !

Follow the instructions exactly !

I also purchased the plastic plate, that replaces the aluminum cover on the pump. This will pierce the wire in the exact location, so "If" something happens, you will be able to return it, because you didn't cut into the power wire.

Also, if you get the plastic cover plate, purchase the Torx plus 25 bit. TAKE NOTE: it is a 5 point, NOT a 6 point like a standard Torx bit, Additionally it has the hole in it, as the Torx screw has a pin in the center of the head.

Look on spending about $2,000 for I. P. , plastic cover plate and Torx bit.

Good Luck,

Peter
