First, I doubt very much that 30psi reading was real... I don't think a single Carter would be capable of that kind of pressure. Maybe a carter pushing a Carter would be able to produce 30psi, but I don't think I have ever seen a single Carter (read: "by itself", not as in "any Carter pump") push 30psi... most are lucky to push 15psi in stock configuration...
Secondly, I think I read it in this thread, the $70 pump is the "campaign pump" from Cummins... look for the $70 Lift Pump thread (I believe in the 2nd gen forum)... they come with a new pump and low pressure warning light kit. You can get the part number and call Cummins to see if you can still get them... the campaign has been on for well over 6 months now...
