Hey, if you don't offer an diesel engine for a car here, no sales. .

Marco, Americans can thank GM and the
lame hybrid diesel they sold to the public
in the mid 70's. I'm sure you are aware
of the 5. 7 diesel, from what I understand
was an Oldsmobile 350 gas engine
converted to a diesel design. Sure, they
ran good and got great mileage when
they were new but did not last long.
I have been to Europe and seen the
various diesel vehicles there. I am at
awe of all the really nice turbo intercooled
diesel options you have!! Maybe some
day Americans will wise up. I hope it is
soon. The US Gov't is getting
rediculous
with their proposed CAFE (Corporate
Average Fuel Economy) mandates.
Basically to get the outrageuosly high
MPG numbers, US manufacturers will
have to make lighter (less safe), more
fuel efficient (less power) cars AND
light trucks/pickups. If the engine
manufacturers would wise up and offer
diesels, then the development of these
diesel engines would after say 4-5 years
provide for some really nice, quiet,
clean burning diesels like VW is selling
over your way.
