VW no longer making tdi

My wife has a 2011, TDI Jetta, that we are keeping. My wife is hoping for a fix so, she can get the $6,000 if VW has a approved emission fix. I am saying I do not care one way or another we will just keep driving the car. I like the way the car drives now and really do not care for any emission fix.

I feel the same way about our 2013 Sportwagen.

I am also patiently waiting for a "fix".......have a 2012 Sportwagen 6 speed manual, just turned 100,000 miles, Love driving this car!! easily averages 37-39 MPG (hand calculated) loaded down @ 75-80 MPH on my trips to Seattle on I-5....have seen 43-45 MPG when driving for best MPG possible...... only wish I could get a 2017 Golf All-Trac wagen with the 2.0 TDI....

I don't get why they can't/won't keep selling the diesel. *There is a fix for the '15s that make them legal. *Put that fix into the manufacturing of the new cars and you're good to go. *I know they took a huge PR hit, as they should have, but the bottom line is the 2.0 TDI is a fantastic engine, the Passat/Golf/Jetta platforms are really good, and from what I've seen on the web, there is a demand for the diesel. *Most of the self-righteous indignation is from people who wouldn't buy a diesel if it had zero pollution.

After looking at the VW site, it appears that you get no restitution money until AFTER the fix is done. There is currently no fix for the Generation 1 and 2 engines. This is getting to be annoying.

VW keeps changing the rules......the kicker for me to sell it back was when I was told specifically that all the goodwill being done about the HPFP issues would be null and void on a car kept after this buyback process.

Apparently all my paper work has been approved by VW. We picked April 3 for the drop off date at our local VW dealer (and pick up the buy off check). Wanted to ask the guys who opted to take the buy back, if they received a e-mail from Bosch. I just received an e-mail from Bosch stating that a class action law suit was filed against them also, and we are subject to an additional $350.00 in compensation from Bosch. According to the e-mail Bosch had written the software

My buyback is already completed back in mid January and while I have heard about the Bosch payment even looked it up on the net to verify that it was real I have not received an email yet. Wonder if you will get that check at the buyback appointment.

I still can't find any information on the 2nd gen fix. *It was supposed to be presented to EPA on 3/3. *You'd think there'd at least be a blurb saying it did or didn't get sent in on time.

Amink, Just reread my e-mail from Bosch. It states anyone who filed a claim with Vw and was approved- will also receive the Bosch settlement. Here's the Bosch claims number 1-844-305-1928. The e-mail also stated that no payments will be issued until after May 11, 2017 and the check would come from Bosch. I think your good. Frank

On the buy back it's not a check as you walk out .unless different area's are that way .Our's was sign her and later that day we got a Link to set up a direct deposit .once that was done the Money was there the Next day .that will be Interesting on the Bosch *payment .

I believe you have the choice of direct or check. *At least that's how the "buyback specialist" at my local dealer explained it to me. *The benefit of DD is that if there is any change in the amount you are owed it can be done immediately. *If you have the check it has to be redone and could take some time.

Bought it in June of 15'.I forget how they figured the miles "allowed" before they would recalculate the amount due to you. Was it 12,000 miles per year since the scandal broke or 12,000 miles since new? Either way I believe I'am over. May I'll call and see if I can change to DD instead of a check in case there's a problem. Don't want to drag this out any *further than it has to!

Going through today's mail came across a post card from the Settlement Claims Administrator. Stating the same verbage I had received in yesterday's e-mail regarding Additional cash payment from Bosch. Check your mail boxes also!

I think if I were involved, I'd take that check and go find a nice Benz 240/300 or something. They're really betting on you going and getting into a Prius or Cobalt or something like that.*

I think it was 12K annually since new.

*I finally had a chance to call the "VW Hotline " and asked how the mileage calculations are figured and how it will effect the final payment. Once you enter the milage of your vehicle at the time of filing the claim (my case was 8-15-16, w/ 23170 miles), you are allowed 12,500 miles per year, or 1,042 per month until your closing date. My car as of toady has 34,650 miles on it, closing date is April 3.Toal mileage at closing date cannot be over 23,170 + 12,500 = 35,670. Just told the wife she has 1,020 miles that she can drive between now and closing (three weeks), before they "adjust" your final payment. Again, the car has been great and one of the best vehicles I've owned ! Sorry to see it go! Now I get to go out this afternoon and continue to look at replacements!!! Audi A6 S line, Quattro 2.0 (2016), is in the running, we shall see.
