W-350 Dually Top Speed

My club cab seems to top out max at 70-75 with a 5-speed, 3. 54's, and 235 77 tires. I don't have a tach, and know that the 5. 9l tops out 2500, but what is everyone else getting. And YES I know that this should be Fast enough, and it is but a little more would be nice. My truck just seems to be soooo wound up at these speeds.

duelly can do 3000 rpm had up to 80
and quit was still increasing strong,

I have a rear axle ratio of 3:54 and LT235/85
tires on the rear. Don't have the tachometer
installed yet,but I have seen a 100 MPH more than once and the truck was not toped out...
my nerve was!

my truck see signature tops out at 92 mph going on level ground. it is turning about 2800rpms. I have reached 95 once going over and overpass with a slight downhill. This weekend i pulled a trailer with 3 snowmobiles. and all our gear, not to mention i am in winter mod with 500#'s of sand bags. the truck would go about 88mph on level ground. I think your truck should go much faster.

I've always wondered the same thing. My truck will do about 85 or so. I would think that it would go faster, but I don't know. I've had my tach in for probably 6 months or more, but it still isn't working! However, the petal was to the metal when I was tryin' for the top speed. I've got 3. 54 gears, and 215/85 tires.

Is your speedometer correct? If it is, sounds like the top end on a 4. 10 truck.

I don't think my speedo is off because when it reads 70, it makes sense, I keep-up with traffic in 65 zones fine. Under the hood it says that my truck has limited slip and 3. 54's. I am thinking that my governor might be out of adjustment. I thought I was having a problem with the injection pump earlier, but that turned out to be sensors. My other truck is so heavy that it takes a while to get it to these speeds, but my club cab is floored to do 75 may be it has aftermarket gears? I don't have a clue.

Your linkage could be out of adjustment. Meaning when you have the pedal to the floor, you aren't really getting full throttle.

I had mine at 155+ km/h (93 mph) on the weekend. It had some room left but was almost there. I have no tach but I do have a shiny new speedo sender.

unclebilly, what size tires do you have? I know that is just not possiable with my truck, with this problem at least. I don't know what am going to end up doing I can't make sense of it.

Right now I'm running stock sized tires (Yoko Super Digger V's) and they are new - I'll check what size they are tomorrow.

My tires are new 265 75 R16's, Yokohama SuperDigger V's.

I'm not sure if my govenor has been played with, the previuos owner mentioned that the pump had been tweaked - and I beleive it.

I know she'll do 100 but that would be about it.

Hmmmm, pump tinkering might be on the way. My tires are smaller so your truck should have a higher top speed.
