Bah!! When you're at the low end of the IQ spectrum like I am, you don't really notice... . Of course, neither does anyone else... . :D

OK , ill hit you with anouther for us week minded guys whom cant renember or find what were looking for .
Were can we find the casting numbers for the rotor and hub ? My truck has the hub adpters to make it a dually front axel , but i got one rotor imnot shure if i should replace or not its rough but it would run for awhile, My rotors have slots like the ones on Napas web site.

I'm having dreams of lazy winter days, snow flying, and someone spending time in their garage by the heater finishing up the ultimate 1st Gen tow rig preparing to update everyone of his progress... .

;)

ENafziger: if it's coming in your dreams, that means it may actually happen! :)

Sigh... I'm hoping so. This used to be a thread I checked eagerly every few days!!! I figured I better do something to bring it back to the forefront again. I thought if nothing else, it might whet his appetite to get going on this. I'm planning to go the TDR/Cummins rally in 2018 and was hoping to see this truck there! :p

Listen to you two... . ;)

Good news. The salt is now on the roads. That means that Truck Wrenching Season has started. May begin as early as this weekend. :)

OK. As promised, the video from last spring (and the last thing I did on the truck) of the engine startup! Bwaaahahahaha

That is an absolutely beautiful project, and your skill and hard work has brought you so close to completion. I love it!

How is it that you were expecting a runaway start, and what was the cause? Good to see that you were prepared to protect a nice engine :) .

Thanks for the kind words.

I was told by an older diesel mechanic, TDR member, and mentor that anytime you start a freshly built engine like this, always prepare for the worst! ;) He was the one that told me have the board ready as if the engine ran too fast, even shutting off the fuel doesn't always work. So thanks to him, the engine didn't go boom! :)

As for the cause, I don't know yet! Main suspects are governor springs, AFC spring, or fuel plate being in wrong position.

Thats the reason im a littel chicken to play with the pump settings my self is that reason , at least if you pay a shop and it blows up they have to fix it on there $$
