Well once AGAIN I swapped turblows on the rig in my quest to tool the truck to death. Hy , Hy modified (Banks) , Pdr 35 , Pdr 40 ... . Whew. Anyways Bolted it up and Man that Downpipe is a killer  the final bend seems to point upward quite a bit so the whole system is stressed but I can easily look past that. EGT's ... What egt's? Right off the bat I am seeing a 100* diference! Granted I haven't really spooled it up yet but even with my set up (DDIII's 93% TC /VB , Blue chip FMC Prem , Van AKN , Volant , and more) Lag I would say is LESS than that of the 35 that was straight piped  The PDR 35 RIPS up quick once spooled and wants to climb out of the housing if it could to please you which is great. the power of the 35 came on quick and threw you back in the seat just fine buuut we ALL know how that is ... . Augh Auugh augh More Power. Granted the 35 had a small housing and I was in tune more for low end than anything being I was arround town alot and didn't want to be the bad smoker boy everyone hates. But when the fuel came on more and more egt's were an issue so I was sorry to say it had to go in favor of mr band clamp outlet style turbo ... I. E Pdr 40

So I fired it up fresh oil change and all and went arround the block and of course BANG FSHHHHHHHHHH Boot go bye bye @ 10 LBS ... ... what clamp? The sound theese things throw is absolutely mental! from what I can see is cruisin at speed is far better than what I expected ..... almost too good to be true. At speed it wants to react allmost like a gasser ... . just goes when the pedal moves (Kinda wierd) no hesitation at all and thats on 15% out of 63 on the BC FMS. Man I was kicking arround a set of twins to get this kind of result but did not expect this at all. EVEN SO with me not goin at it like a beatin' rented mule I did play a little. Remember when I said the 35 throws ya back in the seat? The PDR 40 wants you on the OTHER SIDE OF THE SEAT! It leaves you wondering if it will stop if ya let up? So I cycled a few heat cycles and will let ya know how it is in a couple days!

will it ever end?.... really will it?

Piers Harry is just starting to tease us with the future... ... ...

Where are we headed

Keep it going Piers and Al we like it

first I loved my transmission, then I loved my enjectors. Then it was my comp box, then the drag chip. But nothing is cooler than the feeling you get when ya cant touch the dash and the sound you hear and the Mighty PDR HX 40 screams through the new Megacannon I got last night... ... ... ... ..... WOW

Great news Tim,next time we meet, well have to do some more mosquito fogging together:D ,I got my B1 on now,it is not quite as responsive as your turbo,IMO,but once its spooled, watch out! Im glad you love your PDR 40. since you have dd3's,too,whats your max's with the 40?

WOW!!

Yep this thing rocks! It is now tough for me to reach even 1300 (Still have not planted it to the floor). I have a really steep hill on the way to work which is 1/8th mile long and I don't know the grade but if you were to hold my 5 litre mustang in seccond going down hill (3:73:1 gears) it can push the rpm's yellow no problem. and at the throttle setting I usualy give (Right between a quarter and half pedal) I could see 1300 easy with 20% fueling shown on the box. Now maybe 1000 @ 2000 Rpm on the same hill same conditions same rpm (Humid and 70's)

Tim,

That's grrrrreaaaaat!

By now you've gotten used to that little 'BANG!' under the hood when your intake hose comes off. I've only had it happen once--Joe can tell you about the expression on my face after I put in DDII's.

Any chance you'll get to bring it up to the dyno on the 28th? It really isn't all that far away. .

Matt

Yeah Tim...come on up!

I'll provide the entertainment by being my usual unpredictable self!!

I got broken into the ways of Piers' HX-40 the hard way..... ISB with DD-5's and Comp on 5x5..... I almost soiled my shorts and ruined JES' seat when that sucker kicked in... .

That HX-40 whine sure kept me awake while I was piloting that beast to Muncie!

Matt

Piers Super HX40 Rocks

I luv my Super turbo, fast spool up and great EGT reduction.

Piers has really got a winner here.....

:D :D :D :D That is all I have to say about the 40 from Piers.

That and I will have to go take a pic of the two black marks on the corner I punched it around today... reminded me of driving on ice... . :D
