I haven't heard about any walbro failures here so maybe I'm the first. I've had mine on for about a year. The last 3 months I've noticed the pump becoming noisier. First intermitantly and for the last month constantly. During this time the fuel pressure has stayed consistantly between 15-18 psi.
When I noticed the problem, I had just started the truck this morning and saw no fuel pressure. I thought it might be the gauge but when I turned off the truck and turned the key ON, the pump didn't come on. There was no change in the way the truck ran at an idle or at a high idle. I didn't drive it except into the garage so I don't know if there would have been a noticeable problem or if the truck would have died if I had taken it on the road.
The cp3 must have been able to pull enough fuel through the failed walbro.
The good news is, I happened to buy a spare walbro 3 months ago when the noise started so I was able to replace it quickly. Luckily I was at home when it happened.
