Valvolene Premium Blue Extreme

Which digital panel all in one gauges is the best.

Just swapped out LP #6 today for LP #7. I got just over 30 days on this one! Looking for some real life experiences on the Walbro from Glacier Diesel. Anyone?

Thanks,

Clay

I wished I the GDP system (see singature GFS-392) was available before I wasted my $$$ on 3 pos Carter LPs. 19 psi idle/17 psi WOT Comp @ 5-5, need I say more? Just say no to Carter LPs. Just do it - MHO

I like my FASS 150 (40psi) but I think I would have bought the GDP kit had it been available when I bought my fuel pump. But FASS has been great so far, need to install fuel pressure guage to know for sure, but never ran out of fuel with HOT JUICE yet

My truck goes in on Mon to get a IP. I will pick it up on Fri and start the change. I bought a tank module off of E-bay. I'll drop the tank on Fri to remove the in tank pump. Hopefully I'll be done on Sat with the new pump. Jeff

Like Joe said, Just Do It!!! 22psi idle, 17psi with TST on 9x9. Quiet little bugger, too.

Can the Walbro pumps be dialed down on pressure? I would like to be able to run 16psi at idle. . I have a 0-16 psi guage & am not really interested in replacing my FP guage.

Thanks,

Clay

Yes!!!!! Either use a bypass set up or a return style regulator

I put in a GFS-392 last week, and I have this to say " Oo. :D  :-laf  :) "!!! I had put in a NAPA replacement pump last year for $180. 00, and it failed after six months  but, I got another one under NAPA warrantee. That one failed on the way home from DHRA @ Indy 25 Miles from home. By now the NAPA warrantee was up. I found out about GDP from the TDR and I had posted a thread asking for comparisons.

Any way the install went great, the only thing I had to think about is were to put the pump. After calling Rich at GDP, I put the pump on the frame rail just in front of the Transfer Case Mount on the inside. I then ran the hoses using large ty-wraps to hold them to the frame. The rest of the install went like the directions. The only thing that I added to the install was I grey RTV'ed the electrical connections to keep the road salt and crap out.

In closing the pump puts out 16 PSI except at WOT were it drops to 13. GDP sells a kit with springs to change the relief valve pressure setting. Also, Rich has the best customer service. He even answers his phone on Sunday!! I am very pleased with the whole thing, Moose00 Oo.

I got my truck back today. They put a reman IP on it under warranty. I dropped the tank tonight and got it back in. Plus I got the in line filter and pump mounted to the frame. I ordered insulated clamps to mount the filter. I wire tied it for now. I will finish the install tomorrow after work. Jeff

Is there an easy way to get the pushlock fittings together? I struggled to get them together. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks Jeff

I actually followed the first part in the instructions (yes it's a first I actually read the destructions) and it said read everything before doing anything. When it came to the part about the push locks it suggested placing the hose in hot water to temporairly soften the rubber and then put a dab of light oil on the fitting to hel ease the hose all the way to the bottom of the lock. It really worked!

Hey JEff where in PA is "Etters"? I'm between Philly and Trenton New Jersey.

I guess I should have done the oil and Hot water thing. I just put the fitting into a vice, spit in the hose and "Moosed" the hose on  Moose

I finished with the truck around 4:50 today. 16 psi at idle,up from 8. 5 with the in tank pump. I need to go fill it up and take a test drive.

Joe, Thanks for the tip on the pushlocks. The hot water & oil did the trick. Etters is about 7 miles south of Harrisburg off of I83. I'll take some pictures tomorrow. Thanks again. Jeff

My FP road to where I am now:

Stock:

Obviously sucks - gotta go!

Then to a DPP 95 "Fass2" pump only :

Good in the beginning, held 20psi for quite a while, then it ate a few brushes (keep in mind this has been fixed with newer units). Some new brushes in and all was good... . Until I started to bump the HP up. It started to get gawd-awful loud, and some dyno testing showed at 500hp it would draw from 21psi down to less then 8psi at full rpm.

So then comes the DPP 150 "Fass2" pump only:

At first is was SUPER quiet, that lasted about one month. The HP felt about the same, maybe a little more on top end due to holding more PSI to the CP3 inlet... Some further dyno testing showed no increase in power over the 95gph unit, and I could still pull the 150 down to 13psi from 21psi.

In comes the Walbro GL-392:

2 trys at the shims and I am sitting on 30 psi to the CP3 inlet. The install? Super simple. I have not a chance to the get exact direct comparisons on the dyno, but the truck FEELS at least 20-30 hp more on top end.

The main thing is the lack of the noise, I mean less than a church mouse - Seriously qiuet, and I really like that. As well I like that I can carry a $120 extra pump and swap it in on the side of the road in about 5 minutes...

I loved my DPP FASS2 fuel pumps, But I'll be keeping my walbro from now on.

Like Mr, Mom said "220 / 221, whatever it takes. "

That's a good one Moose - "Moosed the hose on":-laf

I've had my Walbro pump for over 10k miles now without a hiccup. I had to fab up everything because there was no GlacierDiesel at the time. Tough little pump. Quiet and powerful. Walk quietly and carry a big stick... :D
