That’s why I have locking caps on my def and diesel holes. No king street ipa in them thank you very much
It's just one of the greatest beers ever brewed. My favorite and brewed in Shiner TX.Ok, I’ll bite. What’s a “Shiner Bock”?
I understand deionized to be distilled water that has has all the dissolved minerals removed. So DI should always be more pure than distilled.Deionized and distilled are basically two different ways to arrive at the same water quality.....usually. Distilled is more likely to end up cleaner that D.I. but it is not always the case and the differences would be negligible. Regardless, they are both exceptionally pure and perfectly fine in the DEF tank.

Not according to google.
The way I understand it is distilled can be purer, depending on how many times it is distilled. Google also says you can drink distilled but not deionized, and deionized can be corrosive. Lots to read about the two processes. Interesting how we get on these subjects when the thread is about DEF.Funny, google told me that… along with last knowledge from school.![]()

The lowest I could go was 22% before setting the P207F fault. When I got the code last summer the concentration was showing 19%, and during my testing it came on after a couple hundred miles at 20%.I thought deionized water was supposed to be used in the DEF tank, not distilled?
@sag2 what percentage did your ‘18’s alarm go off at?
You are technically correct as DEF is made with DI water. Any tuner will say OK to use distilled water, I've never heard of one saying to use DI water. Lots of tuned trucks use distilled with no harm. Our SCR system probably can't tell the difference. Don't tell my truck I've been mistreating itIt came up talking about DEF because you mentioned using distilled water with DEF, when it should be DI water.
