Rear rotors are bolted to the hubs on the back side, you have to remove the hub to change rotors. When the hub is removed the seal will likely be compromised so a new hub seal is in the parts list. It the parking brake shoes or hardware are anywhere near worn or hardware is starting to look bad rebuild it also or it will have to come apart and do it all over.

Front rotors are bolted down UNDER the wheel adapter, you must unbolt the adapter to remove the front rotor.

Nothing "slips" off a DRW HD truck, everything is bolted on so it doesn't "slip" off going down the road under a load.

My point was they are not pressed on rotors like the early gen2 are, this is what I thought Ron (12v98) was getting at.

A SRW could also be considered a bolt on rotor by your description because the coned lug nuts used on 2500/3500 SRW keep them from "slipping" when installed. :)

We are suppose to read your mind when you "guess" at what you think you mean????

Uhhhh, no.

Not on the rears........

SRW rear rotors are same as the front. Held on by little star clips and just fall off after removing the caliper and mount. Well, sometimes will the help of a BFH depending on where the truck has spent time.

.what exactly am I guessing at?

On the contents of your posts, petty everything you have posted since you were outed for lacking basic knowledge.

If one wanted to argue silly technicalities then the rear rotors on a DRW are slip on also, once your remove the studs holding them to the hub. Just like the front rotors on a DRW, when you remove those 8 nuts holding then to the hub they would then "slip" off. One HAS to wonder if it is the OP's possession of studs and nuts or your lack of studs and nuts that is as the root of your cognizant dissonance.

I have no need to argue anything you seem bent on disputing, the evidence to the contrary is self explanatory.

It is indeed hard to dispute fact. By your description, all European vehicles that utilize wheel bolts rather than studs and hold the rotor in place with a tiny 5mm counter sunk screw are also not slip on rotors. Apparently because they don't fall off the hub after taking the wheel off. Whatever floats your boat.

The fact you continue to berate me over an adapter needing to be removed before letting a rotor fall off the hub really is both very bizarre and a mockery of yourself and your profession, which up until recently I have always held in high regard.

I'm sure that means absolutely nothing to you.

I'm relatively new (around 2 years) to participating in the TDR forum.

What is a "SUPER MODERATOR"??!!

Typically a moderator handles a certain forum or group of forums. A super moderator can usually handle the entire forums within the site. Moderators typically only have post/thread edit/move abilities while administrators are able to work within members accounts to how the site is built in addition to moderator abilities.
In short, it’s just part of the hierarchy within the staff of a forum.

Good to know and thank you for taking the time to post these details.

Nope, neither, like mentioned above it is a preset name from the forums software for a Moderator that has general access tonall subforums. These rights can be granted to a standard moderator too but must be ticked of for every subforum manually.

Okay, now we want to move on from this topic.

Personally have never seen a Moderator confront people like what I have seen recently. Maybe it’s the “SUPER” part ???

The reason for the forum’s existence is to provide solid information to those who desire to understand and repair their vehicle. People who post inaccurate or false information need to be confronted.

Yes back to brakes please.

My son likes his PowerStop brand brakes on his car .

They have a kit for our trucks ( pads, 4 rotors and hardware) i'm thinking of using.

Has anyone used PowerStop brand ?

Maybe corrected, but not confronted.

There’s absolutely no reason to get or be hostile on any forum. One can disagree and be an adult and have a discussion. But once it goes to disrespect, one loses his point immediately as it becomes “another internet fight.” Being an Internet Bully does nobody any good.

The way I see it the general hostility and polarization in the country is spilling over into our normal day to day lives such as forums like this. Our enemies foreign and domestic are standing on the sidelines gleefully watching America implode from within. Yet we fail to recognize we the people are playing into their hands beautifully!
