Is there any chance at all that there is a gasser 1 ton pickup available to the American market, that will make 14 mpg or better, pulling anywhere from 8000- 10000 lbs behind it? Ie. a 24 ft. flatbed gooseneck+ load.
14 mpg is what I am currently making with my 04. But this $. 40 to $. 50 per gallon difference in price, between gas & diesel, is starting to depress me. Plus the fact that quite often I have the diesel smell in the cab.
If the best mileage a gasser would make is 10 mpg, then it still pencils out cheaper to keep what I have , I guess.
Another thing to consider, is , is a gas engine going to last for at least 300, 000 miles?
It appears that my diesel is going to.
What do you guys & gals think? Will a gasser do it?
