Truck color

At one time I had three trucks setting in my yard consisting of red, white and blue. My son made the comment, dad we must be a patriotic family with those colors setting there. It had not crossed my mine at the time. Red Z71 4x4, White Chevy 4x4, (Blue Z71 4x4 very hard to keep clean an shows scratches bad IMO). I have always had the best luck with the white as far as keeping it clean. An IMO white is more practical as looking clean longer, and for reflecting the heat better in summer. My first choice in the CTD was white, and that was what I ended up with, but came real close to buying a flame red one. If it would have not been for the wife saying, I thought you were wanting a white one I probably would have bought it. The silver is pretty awesome too.

For what is worth:

'92 was White/Silver, '96 was white and the new truck is white. Even when they are filthy with road slime they still look decent.

Polished alum wheels, stainless and chrome accents on an all white truck look sharp and clean in appearance. Of course to each his own. My kids think I'm boring; no color in my life. A matching white toy trailer is easier to buy than having to settle with close enough or a custom paint job.

Resale on white is easier. Most contractors or businesses prefer white due to the fact they are easier to place logos' on or advertise with company signs.

BGiles, I like that color combo especially w/the intentions of putting on fenderflares and painting them silver to blend it all in. I wanted to put a graphite bottom on mine but it's not available w/silver. I want to get some fenderflares and either color match them or paint them charcoal and paint the bottom of the truck to match... . Nice truck though!

White was nice with the Driftwood color they had a few years ago, I almost ordered my 98. 5 dually in those colors. I ended up ordering black. Go figure:confused:

amsoilman... That color is nice

I really like the timberline green (is that what its called?) But i think they discontinued it... If i knew they had that color... my truck wouldnt be patriot blue it would be timberline green. .

And yeah i think patriot blue is the hardest to keep clean... BUT when it is clean it blows away every other color (except T. G. ) IMO

One of my coworker/friends has 95 CTD 3500 4x4 dually (black in color) at work, and he is a detail freak which I used's to be. That truck is clean all the time. I looked in it the other day and it looked showroom clean inside and out. I was joking around with him and said "John" what would you charge me to detail mine like yours (because he loves detailing I guess). He looked at me real serious, and said $100. 00 bucks an than started laughing. :D

I originally wanted the Beig with a silver

bottom but a flaming red with a silver bottom

came in and I bought it. Since then I have seen

all of the colors and now it is a toss of the

coin, they are all good looking colors. There

are so many Dodges in Jacksonville you'll find

yourself wishing you had bought a solid silver,

next you'll seen one that is patriot blue and

you wish you had gotten that color, be assured

that any color you decide on will not matter for

your friends and acquaintances will drool over

it. It is not the color that everyone raves

about, it is the he-man appearance that the

truck portrays, that is why the women like it,

ask my wife.

Hi Guys,

Just bought my 03 a few months ago. Went with Flame Red. Was trying to post a picture - not sure if this is going to work - this is my first attempt and post. Here is the link if the picture does not come in. I will also need to play with resizing my pictures. I cut the roof off a bit. Anyhow I am glad to be here and good luck with your decision.

Welcome to the TDR, Red Ramrod. Nice truck. I have decided on flame red, also. It wasn't one of my original choices but then I saw one at the dealer that soneone else had ordered and I just drooled. All the colors and trucks look great, though. Now, I've got to get it ordered, just waiting on a price.
