I have been working on my '07 to install some larger fog/driving lights and some auxiliary rear back up lights. I unsnapped the TIPM/Fuse panel to tap into a few wires for signal for some relays. I looked at a few wires and noticed some insulation missing! I at first was thinking of the problem that several years of VOLVO cars had with the wire insulation that deteriorated and crumbled away. I checked closer and discovered the damage was done by MICE! :{ Now just to let you guys know... I don't live on a farm or park my truck in the weeds. I live in a small town and park my truck in a covered car port and the truck sits on medium gravel. So... A word to the wise to all, CHECK under your tipm/fuse panel under the hood of your truck and look close at the wiring looms that snap into the TIPM/Fuse panel. I am trying to think of a way to mouse proof the compartment that the TIPM snaps into. I may take the bottom out of the compartment so the mice are less apt to stay. What is really strange is that I drive my truck! It doesn't just sit in the car port.

I have a thought that might work for you... . I saw and copied the following... . a 2" piece of ABS pipe (6" long)and 2" test plugs... I put the test plugs in the pipe and than drilled a 1" hole in each end of my short tube... I than fill the tube with mice bate... I use these around the RV, and those vehicles that I park for months when I travel from our summer home and winter home... . dogs and cats can't get into the bate and I've been lucky too keep the mice out of the vehicles... . when the vehicle is parked for months I put one by each wheel, in the shop where I have parked equipment I leave them around the walls...

BTW - before I started to do this I had a mouse crawl into the defroster duct of my Jeep and had to tear the thing apart to get rid of the dead mouse... YUCK... .

Good idea. I have parked cars for years on end here and NEVER had a problem. Last thing I want is a shorted TIPM or burned wiring due to a damn mouse!
