Anyone with enough smarts (obviously leaves me out) to do the following? Figure out what voltage corresponds to 1250 degrees (Pyrometer). Then piggyback a switch to trigger the alarm chimes, buzzers, flashing lights, etc. . Maybe adaptable/adjustable to all types of gauges.

The probe is just a thermocouple(I'm guessing K type) and the gauge is a millivolt meter calibrated in degrees. You can't add any other load to the TC. You'd have to use a special controller with a TC( or RTD) input and builtin readout or analog and binary outputs to run a display and alarms. Ronan is another mfgr of those gadgets. Contact a supplier that sells process controls or the Omega site. That stuff is common in industrial processing.
I just thought of somethins else. I think Stewart Warner makes "alarm" pressure gauges. They have an adjustable contact - if the needle goes high enough it hits the contact to trigger a remote alarm. Maybe they have that kind in a pyro. Good luck! Craig
