Yea, we have all complained about Dodge’s cheesy bean counters skimping every way they can to save a nickel…. The rear wheel liners being no exception. I had ‘em factory on my ’01 and read about them being eliminated on 02’s…. . While negotiating my recent purchase, I had the sealership throw in a fold flat rear deck and skid plate as conditions of the sale…never thinking about the phantom liners. I wanted them so after the sale I broke down and bought them (to their credit they did give ‘em to me at dealer pricing. )

BUT—I go to install them and part of putting the new ones on I had to remove and THROW AWAY these cheesy little splash guard type thingy things that were a pseudo liner towards the rear of the tire opening. All Dodge had to do was incorporate the cost of these dingle berries along with another $40 bucks or so and build it into the cost and there could be liners on ALL NEW TRUCKS.

Thank you (soapbox down. )

BTW- I am so glad that the instructions had the diagram of tools needed (pictures were in Spanish too) and the 25 in/lb spec. for the fasteners. I needed an in/lb torque wrench anyway cause I’m too damn stupid to know the difference between “finger tight,” “snug” and the next step toward needing a 3/8’ drive ratchet!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I just bought a new '05 3500 srw 6 speed Laramie,

and added $5000 of accessories through the financing. It's kind of a work truck, and sees lots of mud, like most truck up here do. It cost me almost $200 for those liners.

In my opinion, that is unnacceptable on any truck!

 $200!!! Did the dealer charge for install? Bought mine for $75 and my install time was about 45 mins. Regular dealer price was $95.

BTW- if your truck sees mud, see my "mini" rant on the stock wheels that come on SRW 3500 here

$86 dollar at the parts counter and maybe 20 mins to install, this was the second Dodge Ram I installed them on.

Sorry, that's in Canadian funds. Also, yes, the dealer installed them because I had them install my Bushwacker flares, and the liners have to go on before the flares.
