I haven't seen anybody talk much about this - but on my 2001, I'm about to have my warranty run out - 34,000+ miles. I don't have anything really wrong - is there anything I should have them check-replace (I know this has to do with the dealer).

My feeling has always been if it isn't broken why fix it, I think you'll find the dealers hold much the same attitude, but to a much stronger degree. You are probably much better off if they keep their hands off your truck anyways.

Avoid the dealer... I ran out of warranty on my 2001 about 1,500 miles ago, and not once has the truck been in the dealer's shop, or any shop for that matter. Sometimes going in for a "quick check" can cause more problems than it is worth. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Only exception to that rule is if you drive a Ford, and that is because it is bound to break sooner or later. So fix it before it breaks! #ad

I agree with the above. I had the dealer check my truck over just before the warranty ran out. What a nightmare. Don't let them touch your truck if at all possible. The rubber mat that sits in the hole in the dash was lifting up. The mechanic? covered it with some kind of glue which got all over the front of the dash (and left it like that). I am NOT talking about a little mess. They R&R'd my differential cover to fix a small leak. When I checked it later, one of the bolts was hand tight and left more than half way out. When I went to pick it up, the service manager took one look at it and told me he would work on it himself to fix those and other problems. It went back 3 times and then I fixed everything myself.

You guys are killing me!
~34,500 miles, was about to go in for a mild steering wander before warranty ran out, and now I'm scared to!

Mine (thought to be flawless at the 35K point):

-Power steering pump
-Axle seals all around
-Lift pump (still fighting about that one)
-Front sway bar bushings (not sure what that is)
-Fuel gauge issue remains unsolved

----
All that from "can you guys check on the cold weather growl in my power steering pump and the left rear tire locking up when braking on ice, along with a funny clunking in the front end??"

----
Don't get me wrong, I love my truck.

Have independent mechanic you trust check it out first if he finds anything then bring it in for them to check out.

Quoted by Mr. Beck I ran out of warranty on my 2001 about 1,500 miles ago

You're at 37,500 already?? I'm trailing you by almost 9K. You've racked up at least 6000 miles since Superbowl Sunday #ad

How is the clutch holding up???
