I'm not sure were to ask these questions, so here looked good enough.



I own a 2009 3500 dually. .



Does any one know if anyone makes a dash cover plate, like polished aluminum, that will fit around the A/C control area or the front center of the dash?. I would like the cover to cover those 2 pockets that are in the dash, those pockets are worthless cubby holes. I want to use those areas to mount a brake controller, Maxbrake, & a Snow Meth/water controller.



This is my warranty question, if I install a Snow Meth/water system what will it do for warranty issues? & what would injecting Meth/Water into the intake system do to emissions on the truck? I want to cool the EGT's down when I pull my 12,000lb. 5th. wheel & a little more power & MPG. wouldn't hurt either.



So far the truck gets better then expected fuel mileage & runs great.



I'd like to add a bigger innercooler, except there's those warranty issues. By the way I live in Ca. , that's why the emmission question.



I don't want big H. P. & torque, because I don't want the noise, my old truck got pretty noisey. I'm getting to old for all that stuff.

First off, I wish to thank you for your warm welcome to a new member of TDR.



Nope, never kicked off any website, nor have I ever been fired from any job,there is a first time for everything though.



Mr. Barlow, you seem to think way highly of yourself, I wish I could buy you for what your "REALLY" worth & sell you for what you "THINK" your worth. I could retire to the beaches of Flordia on the difference. I really do hope your not a representive of what the forum members are like here.



Now Mr. Barlow, if you don't have an answer to those other questions I posed, I regret I'll have to ignore you, because if it comes to some sort of key board flame war you'll never keep up, you just don't have the talent.

Question

My question is this. Why would anyone want polished aluminum on their dash anyway? Have you considered the reflection problem you would have? Seriously though, you may want to go with a Smarty instead of the meth/water injection. you can pull the presence of this unit before shop visits and clear your computer. This will have no effect on warranty I believe. My BIL has the smarty, his trans temps and EGT went down considerably. More power and better MPG slightly but still better than what he was getting before... and that was in the Tow mode. Not sure what weight he is pulling. He has a 3 axle 5th wheel type Sunny brook 36 footer so I figure he may be pulling more than you. His rig is older though, 05 type 5. 9L.
A little piece of advice even though you didnt ask for it... . TDR is a wealth of information and guys like Barlow can be a Godsend when you need them. I know this from my short experience. (still a humble Newbie and learning more everyday on TDR) I have saved money and had many questions answered. Take a deep breath and be nice. At your implied age you should know better. Sometimes it takes a while to get your questions answered. Patience is a virtue they say. Good luck in your quest.

There's a reason for my second post, FRUSTRATION. Make a post with a question & it takes 24 hours to show up. Make another question post & it get's moved & disappears? Try & get ahold of a moderator trying to find out what's going on, no such luck? Criticize this place, nope, just going public with frustrations.



Then ole boy sheriff Barlow shows up picking a fight, no answers to any question I might add. Now ole Barlow is doing his happy dance. It's no wonder this palce is the way it is, with guys of Barlows ilk here. That's not a slight on the good guys here as they must out number the Barlows of this site.

The reason for the dash cover, aluminum-wood or what have you, is to cover those 2 cubby holes in the dash & would provide spots for the trailer controller & met/water controller if I decide to install it & that would make for a clean installation, I hate crap hanging off under the dash. The other concern is what meth/water will do to the new emissions on my truck.

I would not do any preformance mods on the truck at all. In my opinion, there are too many emisions to tamper with. I just bought my '09 so I'm not all that familiar w/ after market dressups for the dash. You might be able to by polished aluminum at Home Depot and make them yourself.
