well, tried to install the fuel pressure guage today but it wont work. what port do i put it on on my 99 fuel filter housing? tried bolth ports and switching wires on the sending unit and guage wont move! need help bad! maybe my pump is shot? TIA... james

Make sure the sending unit has a good ground, any one of the lugs on the sender should go to ground, the other to the gauge.

ISSUE 32 page 38 has a good photo, also the truck in photo is a 99.

James,

On the 99's with the, old fuel filter, there should be two test ports. One is pre filter and the other is post. If memory serves me correctly, the center on is the post filter port, but you may want to confirm this with someone who has this setup. Either way, you should get pressure readings.

Make sure you have a good ground (can be on either terminal of the sender) and Westach recommends that the gauge ground be to the same source.

If the needle is pegged to the left and does not move, it sounds to me like you have a power problem to the gauge. Recheck you 12V supply (preferrable with a volt meter). This source should be from an ignition on source so that the meter is only powered with the key on... . ;)
