Anyone made thier own B-1 wastegate?the turbo itself has a internal wastegate thats bolted shut but nothing comes with the turbo to activate it. kurt was telling me about one you mount to your manifold for 450. 00 not what I want to spend after buying the turbo. Any suggestions?
Presently there are two choices, put a wastegate in between the manifold and turbo like my old Twins are done which will cause you to modify your down pipe to make it work, or buy a ATS manifold from Piers with the wastegate mounted on it http://www.piersdiesel.com/DodgeWastegate.htm those are your choices right now!
If you already have the ATS manifold, maybe Piers could sell you the wastegate, and then you could take it to a local weld shop and have an 90 degree elbow welded on to snail like this:
where can I buy the external wastegate?what would you recommend setting it at?the truck was making 45-48 psi of boost ,after the delivery valves over 60.
Billet wastegate with stainless steel riser or you can get it from Piers. You should call him and see what he can do for your B-1 as he handles them now!
