I HAVE A 1996 AND 1999 3500 4X4 EXTENDED CAB (96) AND QUAD DOOR (99) THAT LEAKS WATER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAB. i HAVE NOTICED THIS WATER ON THE PASSANGER SIDE BUT NOT AS BAD . . CAN ANYONE GIVE SOME HINTS OF WHERE THIS IS COMING FROM, THE DEALER CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING( GO FIGURE) PLEASE HELP BEFORE I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FLOORBOARDS ...
 
Let me be the first to say "Welcome to the TDR". I'd start at the rear cargo light above the back glass. Then if I still had a leak after resealing the light, I'd suspect the back glass. I know, the water can't get from the back of the truck to the front floorboards, but it finds a way.

THANK YOU RONNIE i WILL TRY OUT THOSE SPOTS AND NOW IS A GOOD TIME DUE TO i HAVE TORNOUT THE INSIDE OF MY TRUCK TO FIND THE PROBLEM, fOUND THE NORMAL BACK WINDOW BUT NOTHING TO SHOW THE MASSIVE AMOUNTS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE UNDER THE MAT BUT i WILL TRY ALL ADVISE AT THIS TIME. . THANK YOU AGAIN
 
I hate water leaks... ... You might check the front where the cowl lower plenum meets the a-pillar (windshield pillar). ther is a T. S. B. on the 99's and 2000's, that address pounding a chisel between the metal there to stop a squeak, and then pack the seam with seam sealer to prevent water leaks. My 2000 still squeaks BAD, but I am afraid to let some flunky at the dealer under the dash with a hammer and chisel. My '96 gasser 2500 always got wet on the drivers side also, but I sold it and that cured the problem from my point of view.

My '95 leaks on both driver and passengers side. Found the problem when it started smelling musky/moldy inside. Pulled up the carpet and the insulation was saturated. traced the leak to a body seam (both driver and passenger side)on the front of the cab / engine cowl area. The only way to get to the problem area is to remove the front fenders. This has been on my to-do-list for awhile. In the mean time I have removed the plastic "kick panels" from inside the cab and have wood 1x2 holding the carpet insulation off the cab floor.
