I wonder if a vendor such as LarryB's can step up to the plate and begin refurbishing turn around units with premium internals. One way of bringing it back home.

What trends, if any, did you see beginning with the 2007.5 6.7L's and the plastic impellers???

It's been a while but I think it in the 06 that I saw more than average failure, which of course was abit annoying since the new style shrouds that came out in the 325 engine made a once very quick w/pump replacement more of a pain

So then I went back on rock looking for something else, and I decide to check if my Bosch pump was still there, and it's not.
I did check applications for giggles, and it seems that pumps changed in 2009. I wonder what the difference is? It seems like 09 down and 10 up.

To add to the mix......The MOPAR part number for a 2013 & up Cummins water pump is 68210961AA.

Wondering if I should buy a spare and carry it with me next time I take a trip more than 500 miles from home? If I do that, it probably won't break. BUT! Does the oxygen in the air weaken the seals?

If I had a dual Radiator truck I would carry an upper radiator hoseand a w/pump wouldn't be a bad idea but thenwarranty on the pump may be used up before it ever gets installed

I do have a dual radiator truck. Are they more prone to failure?

The upper radiator hose goes to both, i assume.. including the T?

The hoses will leak at the Y plastic fitting. The replcement hose goes from the t/stat,includes the y and goes to the main radiator

ALL water pumps for the 5.9 and 6.7's are made in China. If someone knows of one actually Made in USA please let me know.

I bought an OEM Cummins replacement to carry with me last year for my 5.9 and it's Made in USA. However, the bean counters may have changed things since then.

Yeah.

It is more of a Y, than a T. Thanks for the info. I'm going to need to figure out how the Y connects to the upper hose of the bottom radiator. Good to know the Tstat is i. The same place as all gassers i've worked on. This is my first diesel.

Yeah, looked at it today. Simple hose clamp connection to the Y joint (to lower radiator -upper hose)..... if you think tightening a hose clamp onto a plastic Y is a simple job without breaking the Y and getting the hose tight enought to maintain pressure. I've never used an adhesive sealant on an application like that. Is there one that would be safe?

Seems like the t-stat is buried under an EGR cross over tube and some other stuff in the way? My T-stat is fine now. Going the length of Florida at 70 mph, my temps measured 192-194 the entire way (unloaded). So the T-stat wasn't causing fluctuation.

By the way, where is the temp sensor located on the engine that gives the digital EVIC readout?

I sure in the heck do.. Everything!, from Sheetrock, pet food, tires and hose Nozles made in Chna is TRASH,.

Part # for the upper hose with y is 68166469AC.

I've de decided to carry one with me.

Please disregard the above part number. The guy at Bill Luke Chrysler told me the wrong number and sold me the wrong part. The correct part number is 52014722AD.

I actually bought from ebay, and they covered all the return shipping. It was just a few pennies shy of $68.00
