Yes. Pulling the air box really opens things up to see. I also use a long 1/2 drive ratchet and curve jaw vise grips (clamp to the sway bar) to hold off the tensioner while I inspect the WP and other pullies.

Iv'e changed out my pump a few times never removed anything to get to the pump. I use a breaker bar under the truck on the idler pulley and lock near the harmonic balancer. hour job.

Put the 6.7 cummins pump on the 5.9 in my 03 last year. haul a 11k lb fifth wheel up the rockies a bunch and find the extra coolant flow a good thing. the late 6.7 pump has more and larger vanes on the rotor. be working well so far.

Did you have to get a longer belt to run the 6.7 WP. on the 5.9?

I can’t fiqure it out the seal is 3.00 part . Why do aftermarket pumps all leak . I had one leak in one spot tap the starter to bump the engine the leak stopped . I hate working on stuff 3 or 4 x so from now on it’s Cummins and wish it well .
