Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove water spots? I have really hard well water and can't seem to get the truck wiped down fast enough to keep from getting them. The Blue Coral car wash seems to help a little but still have the problem. Anyone heard of a small portable water softner that you could insert in series with you hose when you rinse it? These nice dark Dodge colors really make the spots stand out.
Thanks,

I have the Deep Amethyst Pearlcoat paint and it spots horribly unless washed and dried in the dusk. It would be nice to have a portable RO unit for the rinse.

I too have the all Deep Amethyst(beautiful color),and the first thing I did was polish the paint out with TR3 Resin Glaze. I then used Meguiars Hi-tech Yellow wax. When I wash it,the water runs right off, hardly any left to dry.

Hi Frank, how's it going? Check out Griot's Garage ( http://www.griotsgarage.com ), they're a mail order business specializing in high quality car detailing products. They have a product called "Speed Shine", it's a spray on/wipe off waterless cleaner. I too have a problem with hard water spots & no shade to wash my truck in. After I wash and dry my truck, I spray on the speed shine and wipe it off with a soft cotton towel. The water spots disappear. In between washings, I go over my truck with a "California Car Duster" and then wipe it down with the speed shine. Many times I'm able to do this during some down time at work. The speed shine is also great for removing bird droppings, and it has chemicals (no silicones) in it that protect the paint from the elements. Be sure to use 100% cotton towels. Griot's Garage sells those too, but I found some good ones at Wal-Mart.
Take it easy, I'll see you at the next May Madness.

Hello Andy,
Thanks for the tip. I'll go take a look at their stuff. I have a Califonia Duster which I use religiously between car washes. This morning, my Wife suggested I should try using some "Jet Dry" (The stuff you used in dish washers). She reasoned that if it was good enough for her fine china it should be okay to used on my truck <grin>. I added 2 cap-fulls of "Jet Dry" (The stuff you put in dishwashers) into my regular Blue Coral car wash soap and proceeded to wash HER car to make sure nothing got screwed up :) WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! The rinse water almost all sheeted off the car - amazing. I think part of the key when using this stuff is making sure you don't use a nozzle or sprayer when rinsing. I then tried it on the truck and had the same results. Took me less than half and hour to wash and wipe it off, and almost NO water spots, and that included the camper shell. I emailed the company that makes the stuff and their response is that they will only recommend Jet Dry be used per the instructions on the package, which say almost nothing. Oh Well; Gues you use the stuff at your own risk, like lots of other things :) Would have to believe the new Blue Coral car wash stuff has a similar ingredient. By the way, I received the hitch plug for Jason and it looks outstanding.
Best Regards,
