Water vs Propane Injection??

The time has come for a little extra on the old truck. I'm considering either propane or water injection but not sure which way to go Any insight or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard Water is more for higher boost applications. Like guys who are running 50 pounds or more of boost. I'm running the banks power pack on my 96 so I'm peaking at about 37-38 pounds of boost. Am I going to get anything out of water around 10 pounds of boost running down the highway?

The water/meth will work good even at your level. It take a little tuning but you will be happy with the results. Crusing down the road the water is off. You can set the activation to come on were you want it to.

I've never heard of water/methanol reaping the huge fuel economy benefits many claim with propane, but it is my preferred combustion enhancer. Propane can be expensive, and it can raise EGTs. The flash point is far lower than diesel, making it more dangerous.

With water injection, depending on ambient air temperatures, you can use only straight water and still find gains in timing, boost, power, and reduced EGTs. You will also lower NOx which is an environmental incentive. A water kit won't have the constant expense propane refills will. It does require a bit of tuning as has already been mentioned. Also, it can grow with you if need be by using larger injector nozzles.

If I am not mistaken 100% water for EGT reduction, add some meth for more HP. I plan on running windshield washer fluid and I think its about 20% meth if I remember correctly.

I Added A Coolingmist System Last Summer, Lowered Egts And Could Tell A Strong Difference In Boost And Power. The Kit Came With 4 Injectors, I Only Used 2, Love It, Good Luck

Do you think it varys between brand what % meth is added? I just got mine hooked up today and tested it out... . WOW its awesome!!!!

I think Snow performance said 15% meth was for best egt reduction. I think I read that in their forums.

I have seen many of both setups on the dyno when we have our shows. Propane will give you the most power of the two of them,however it is the most volatile. Water meth systems will add some power but do more when it comes to lowering egts than adding HP. The decision comes down to you,the ease of water meth by refilling with window washer fluid or having to tote your propane tank to the filling station for a fill or stealing the one off your gas grill,LOL... ... ..... I obtained a MSDS sheet on a windsheild wiper fluid I buy at Pep Boys and it was 37% methanol and the rest water.
