6 volt battery question?

Missing bumper bolts..

Went out to the sand Dunes out at Little Sahara and also weighed the double combo I have now with 2 toys.

Have 36' toyhauler 5th wheel that has a 12' garage. This houses the Sand Rail I have. I have also a Yamaha Rhino that is on the utility trailer. Utah law is that when 2 or more trailers are hooked up, they [the trailers themselves] must not excede 61'. There is no overal length.

I weigh like this. Water 3/4 full.
Trailer gasoline for toys 34 gal.
Food and stuff for 2 days.
Fuel in truck full (50 gal)
4 adults and 2 dogs in truck

Steer axle... 4,780
Drive axle... . 6,300
Trailer tires(6, D's). . 13,360
Utility trailer(4 tires)... . 2,340

Total weight. . 26,620 !!

We went to the Sand Dunes and had OK weather for about 3 hours. . Then the wind started up... But all in all we had fun. . Tried some small jumps with the buggy and went on other roller, seeing what it can do. . I need to get a bigger motor. . Thats for sure... at least a 1935 with a bigger carb...

what size engine do you have in there now? what you really need is a turbo! :)

my buddy built a draw-through turbo rail buggy... it was a friggin' HANDFULL!

the buggy has a 1600 and a stock single head and single carb. Engine has developed a leak at the crankshaft seal. . have no idea on age or miles. . going to get a 1915cc long block and 40/44 single carb and dual port head. . that will be enough...

Not worried on weight. truck has those 19. 5 12 plys on and trailer has 6 D tires. . the trailer tires I might upgrade to 16s later but for now they are good.

the trailer tires weight was more than I thought it would be... I used to be about 12,500. . didn't add to much... some of the extra weight is the rear utility trailer tongue weight. (~200#).

Looks like your wieght is distributed just right. My setups @21660 combined. SA:4600, DA:8240, TA:8820. Makes me wish for a goodeneck:-laf

WOW! 8240 on your drive?... even my 12 ply is not that high at 4080# each tire... . how long is your trailer?

My truck pull this weight pretty well. I would do better if I had 4:10 gears but I get about 9 mpg.

I have a hybrid turbo, edge EZ, bluechip box, 4" exhaust, An oil cooler that adds 3 quarts capacity, and a horton fan. . it gets hot on coolant when climbing but cools off fast. . the 245/70 R 19. 5" tires helps it roll pretty well. 12 ply . F rate. Roadmaster springs from Mr. Bobs help on the on-board weight. truck sits level.

It's only a 24'. My next run i'm gonna re-weigh, this time with full tank of fuel:rolleyes:, and my new liquid tank. The old one(pictured) is plastic and alunimum and only holds 275gals. My new tank holds 350gal and is plastic/steel with the control valve lockout. Also gonna roll the jeep back if theres any room left to do so:eek:
