2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Weird ABS brake question.

When in 4 wheel drive does the four wheel ABS still function?



Reason I ask is this weekend I was in 4x4 and hit a patch of ice coming up to a stop sign. No usual ABS sound and truck got sideways as if the rear ABS were locked. I had to take corrective action to keep from sliding into intersection or off into ditch.



I know how to "brake" with ABS so this was not the problem.



I have never had this happen before. Any Ideas?

PS: no other problems with brakes, still OEM with 31K and ABS worked last week in 2 wheel drive.

If you have 4 wheel ABS only the front ABS is disabled when in 4wd
