Looks like the 17x8 would stick out 1. 5" past your stock wheels. At that price why not just go with the 18" KORE/WELD wheel? Just a little limited on tire sizes at the moment.

There are 33 and 35" tires in 18's

the banks of the wheel world. what wheel did you get that quote for. ive checked on them and was quoted more than that on a 16".

eagle alloy makes a wheel similar to the weld and it is half the cost.

It's also cast and doesn't have anywhere near the polish. Eagle wheels are garbage compared to Welds.

I sell both, and I have a set of Eagles now, and they look like crap and don't polish up worth a damn either.

They'll polish up depends how much effort you want to put in them. I had a set on my old truck and after a mudbog in gumbo mud it took awhile to get them looking good again. I would go with a wheel I don't have to put much effort in but polished wheels no matter made by who need attention.

I also don't like the style of kore wheels. I wish they would have made the weld ssII style or the alcoa/mickey thompson classic with the holes.

I missed the sale at southwest wheel in dec. could have gotten alcoa w caps lugs for 898. 00 now there 1100. 00.

I don't know which I like better weld or alcoa. I had alcoa on my 98. 5 and they were a pain to clean until I bought the alcoa cleaning kit. that made it a little better

Task if you want Weld wheels I have a nice set of 5 18x8. 5" Weld Typhoons in my garage I'll sell you for that price. They are true directionals, 3 are directional one way, 2 the other way, so you can have them all spinning 'forward' or 'backwards' on each side of the vehicle.

The Eagle Wheels actually have a higher load rating (3420 vs 3200) than the Weld SS 2's, however the Eagles do not come in a 17x8 size. The are available 17x9 with the same 4. 625 backspacing as the Weld SS 2's.

I have a set of Eagles on my truck and they do stick out about 2". It is a pain as everything is melting around here right now and they throw **** everywhere. The other thing you run into is tire fitment. With the 17x9 wheels, 35's wouldn't work, even with my 2" front leveling kit. It actually caught the lower back corner of the fender. I was planning on putting 33's on anyway, but we tried the 35's and it was not going to work.

Why would anyone in the world put 18" wheels on a CTD. Sounds like a joke to me. Those 18 inch wheels are for Los angeles county dorks. Too large, more problems with being out of alignment and bending with hard off roading. Tires are more expensive and they look retarted.

Just to p*** you off. :-laf

KORE Weld Wheels

The KORE Weld Wheels are in fact Weld Cheyenne EVO wheels on OEM specs as established by Kent of KORE Performance. I have a set on my truck and so far really like them. I bought 5 of them with my KORE suspension and he does offer a very good TDR discount. The stock wheels are 17 inch so going to 18 inch wheels is no big deal. These are some pretty tough wheels and the don't stick outside the fender because the backspacing is correct.

Spoken like a true Communist. The answer is because not everyone is the same and others have different likes and dislikes. I know it's hard to believe, but there are people in this great country who think, act and like different styles and things which may be contrary to your own. I actually plan on running 20" wheels... ... why? Because I like them and that sir is why someone would put such wheels on a CTD. :-laf

Hey. You know, that is great. I also agree with you that you can do whatever the hell you please. If I want a machine gun sure as hell I can have one. Just like you and your 20 inch wheels. I'm not a communist and take offense to that. I'm not a liberal jerk. Did anywhere I say "NO, you may not have 20 inch wheels?" No, I didnt sir. I think if you want your 20's have them, my opinion is they do look okay on certain vehicles but the cost of the wheels and tires are too high and they are weaker than their 15/16 inch cousins. Thats why I ran 16's welds on mine for those reasons
