I have 19k miles on mine and 2 weeks short of having had it for a year. I really love my truck. I had three issues that the dealer took care of. First one was a recall on the ecu or whatever programming. Second one was a reflash for clutter or whatever that is. Third one was new transfer case seal. All this fixed under warranty.

Absoulely no problems other than those mentioned above. I use my truck pretty hard since I bought it for my farming operation.

Only three dislikes so far. Automatic door locks when driving... I got this stupid programming disconnected. Wind noise... can get really annoying, but all my prior trucks were like that, so cant really complain on this one. Also tires... dang, I hate the bfg all terrian that came with it. I couldn't find a decent tire that I wanted in 17 inch styles.

All in all, I would buy one again.

Just turned 12K. This is with out a doubt the best diesel truck to date. I can't help but grin every time I get behind the wheel. My past 3 CTD were driven over 200k each and I could not be happier. Yes, they all had a problem here or there but still great trucks.

I will agree, if Toyota got serious and built a HD full size with a diesel, it would bring the big three to their knees. My 78 FJ-40 has almost 265k and in my humble opinion are the most robust and reliable mode of transportation made..... my $. 02

CTD & Dodge quality.

Like many on this site I sold my 96 to a friend and have absolutely no concern he got a very good machine. He was a C driver and is in heaven. My 04 is good so far and can't see why I won't be just as pleased with it. Many years ago I had a new 72 C and thought it was a good truck in the year. A guy I met had the same truck and was taking it to the dealer for 100+ praoblems. Do the math. thanks, Doc

My truck is 11 months old and now has 97,873 miles on it. The only problems have been a power steering pump, (cross threaded at the factory) and the limited slip unit, replaced under warranty. Other than that, it has done what it is supposed to do, run down the road. 90% of these miles have been pulling a goose neck trailer that weighs 7,000 lbs empty.

Got 103,489 mi. on mine now, turned over 100K on Jan. 2nd. , been home a few days now, took delivery on Nov. 20th, 02. New alt. brkt. , hyd. line from steering to brake booster cracked, new inst. cluster(fuel guage bad), flashed for check inst. lights, new TPS, all this in the first 20K. No wind noise, no dash poping, just not real happy with the seat, and that will get fixed in March. I thought my 00 was the greatest, but not anymore. Its been a great truck, and getting better every mile. I really like the R & P steering, it took a little getting used to, steers just like my 300M.

No gripes here! Oh, my badyear tires started cracking around the rims at 87K, they allowed me $66. 00 per tire adjustment on all 6, that was off of $177. 00 for new ones=$111. 00 per tire, that really surprised me.

I've only had mine for 3 months, but it hasn't missed a beat. Zero problems or issues.

If Toyota or Nissan ever do decide to make a truck that would compete with my 3500 dually, I could buy two Dodges for the same price!

No complaints here

I love mine. Sure it has its creaks and rattles but so does every other vehicle out there. The cupholders are some of the best Ive seen yet and its supposed to rattle a little, its a diesel remember.

You will never enjoy it if you look for the little things to cry about. :{

Well, you're all right it's small stuff(except for the out of balance driveshaft and the howling rear end and the noisy door)...

I guess being in the business I'm in(Automotive engineering)

I get a little picky!!!

42,000 bucks is what this truck costs before tax, and I expect a lot more than a great engine for 45k.

Hopefully after I get it back from the dealer these will be the last of my issues for some time.

It is really interesting to note that a LOT of the issues on the new gen trucks involve noises of one sort or another. Makes one wonder if they were there in the gen 2s but we simply didn't hear most of them because of the engine. That new quieter engine is a double edged sword. Yes, it is quiet but now people are hearing every creak in the truck. FWIW

Casey is a very wise man, and I value his consul.

I just have to say that we have heavy duty pickup trucks here and many of us bought them for that purpose, I did not expect to have the comfort of a Mercedes and was very pleasantly surprised at the level of luxury.

I wanted a vehicle with moxie and got it. The comfort was secondary in my case.

Well mine is just over two years old and now has 24,000 miles and going up! I can honestly say, This truck is awesome! and this is my 3rd CTD pickup. Each one has been better than the previous one, and this is the best of all! No complaints, and have only been to the dealers one time for the clutch disk replacement. I simply LOVE to get in this truck and drive!

I would say from experience that, you had better get used to it

:( In the last couple of years I purchased two new Mercedes-Benz autos, one stickered for $131k, the other $75k. Both had FAR more issues in the first 20k miles than my Dodge trucks have had. The expensive one had to make two dealer visits on the trip home from California, in the first 3000 miles of ownership.

If you want NO problems, buy a Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura. Unfortunately they don't make many cars I like, and they certainly don't make anything that works like a Dodge with the Cummins.

My wife has had three Acura's since 1987 and they have all been awesome cars, no problems to speak of and the service is as it should be at all dealerships. My local Dodge dealer tries to get me to show her a Dodge car and she just smiles and shakes her head from side to side.

yeah its 40k plus... . But its a TRUCK. . Get over the little things. a TRUCK is meant to work and if the engine and all of the rest of the drivetrain does its job. . thats what you paid for, I dont get why people go out and buy all the little stupid do-dads in there trucks... If you want that go buy a Mercedes ML 500... My grandfather recently bought a Maybach 57... a car that makes bentley and R. R. looks like crap... at a price of over 300k even he has a little bit of problems... his car pulls to the right a tiny bit, and the tv on the back seat doesnt close all the way. . He complained about it to me and i said its a car... it will not be perfect, no car/ truck is. WE ALL NEED TO GET OVER IT!!!! :p
