And for the 1st time since I couldn't find the Mobil 1 for this winter,

Amsoil.

I'll tell ya, the truck sounded different than it did with the Mobil.

Kinda split the difference between the Castrol and the Mobil 1.

I expected the Amsoil to have the same effect that Mobil 1 did.

The mobil 1 makes my 99 sound the "quietest".

Have been running a WIX/NAPA Gold (buddy had a NAPA dealer ship) on the 92 for the last 14 12 years with no problem. . They told me at the dealer ship not to use Fram even back then. Fleetguard on the 2006... . Rotella 15w40

From what I have read on here, DO NOT USE FRAM FILTERS. Fleetguard has great filters that are a little cheaper than the AMSOIL. If you are going to go with fleetguard check www.genosgarage.com they have the best price.



I have done alot of research and yes I know that you can see that I am an AMSOIL dealer. I know that the AMSOIL filters (air and oil) are the best bar none. That is why I am a dealer, I can buy this stuff at wholesale.



Please do your research before buying, your truck is a huge investment and oil and filtration is a big important part of keeping it in great shape.

Bomgaars (local farm & fleet store), use to sell Mystic oils, but have since started selling Cenex oil. They still sell the Mystic synthetic blend oil. Not sure of that stuff... ...

Oil & Filter Used

After break-in of engine,first couple of changes using Mystic 15w-40 , went to amsoil dual remote with 5w-30 HDD oil, & was doing oil analysis. Didn`t feel comfortable with that and went to amsoil 15w40 diesel & marine oil & drop oil once a year. I change primary filter @ 6 months & both filter & oil @12 months , never had a problem 80,000 miles.

I use the FleetGuard filter`s, but I needed to change my oil now. My order from Geno`s is taking forever. I ordered on 12/28/6, but the delivery date is 01/09/07. . :{

So I bought a Mobil-1 M1-403 extended performance filter.

The box states it has a synthetic blend filter element, steel center tube and a heavy duty canister withstanding 9 times the normal oil system operation pressure. I bought it because of the name brand and the J1858 test score of 99. 2%. :-laf If that test actually means anything in real world use.

Good thread to revive, In the past I used delo 400 but now it is a ulsd compatible with some of the additives taken out to meet the CJ-4 spec . My question is there any thing left thats CI-4 what is the top dog now in dino oil?

I never dreamed that oil would be downgraded thats 1 reson I never bought a drum of delo, I figured as soon as I did they would up the spec as in -put addition additives in not take them out.

Has anyone used coastal oil?? Just curious. Its friggin cheap, even with the new certification. Ive ran Valvoline prem blue, but its like 13$ a gal here now, coastal is only 8.
