A pic for you math guys!

#@$%!!! Deer!!!

Wow, It just blows me away that here in this forum there are so many diverse and interesting people. We come from all walks of life with a common thread. I'm forced to retire from the aluminum industry as a millwright for 28 years at 55 years young. Big business is slowly getting all our jobs, it seems! I keep busy working on equipment and motorcycles (Harleys) and keep the house running so the little woman can work for a few more years

I was an auto mech. and heavy equipment mech. I also volunteer EMT and Park Ranger at Lake Mead. After an 86 Kenworth with twin 40 foot belly dumps full of gravel ran a red light and hit me in my 75 CJ-5, I am a dispatcher at a Community College. Just finished training and now working after a 6 year "break" since the accident. This is the first time I had a job with four walls and a roof, and the lowest paying job I ever had. But hey I work with great people and have loads of fun, so it evens out.

Director of a technology group for a manufacturer of engines, compressors, turbomachinery and associated systems primarily for the oil, natural gas and power generation industries - I've been with this company for 28 years. So, what do I do with my free time - go RVing and mess with engines! Go figger, I guess.

Rusty,

Meant to ask you before on a previous thread who you work for. I'm guessing Solar Turbines/CAT.

Nope, Cooper Energy Services. Our products include (or have included) Cooper-Bessemer, Coberra, En-Tronics, Superior, Ajax, Penn Process, Nordberg, Enterprise and some others that nobody outside the oil, power generation or marine industries has ever heard of! ;)

I was an electronic engineer developing and supporting aircraft avionics systems such as the C-130 Gunship (AC-130H), B-1B and the F-15.

Now, I'm back in the US Coast Guard on Active Duty following activation by the President. This is a lot more fun, but engineering pays better ;) .

Pipeline Safety Inspector for a goverment agency. This lets me log a lot of miles on the CTD. I guess that is the best part of the job. It is amazing the wealth of knowledge that is here at our finger tips. Great thread.

I have worked in the information technology field for over 20 years, the last eight as a manager in manufacturing companies.

At the moment, I am unemployed due to downsizing/consolidation.

I am seriously considering a career change at this point, though. I am looking into training to be a dog trainer. . obedience, detection, retrieving, etc. The way technology is going, I can probably do this a lot longer and I get to work with a great animal. Anybody out there in the field that has any input, I would appreciate it.

I own my own business doing mostly custom interior trim, cabinet installation and fabrication. I also do roofing, siding, light framing, wood flooring, just about anything it takes to keep busy. I'm looking forward to winter, time to go snowmobiling!
