I am old school... . I have always liked the looks of the old Perlux 200T fog lights. They are 100 watt each and I will make up a relay circuit so when I switch them on with the headlight switch, the TIPM will only close a relay. The fit without any cutting on the bumper. I made up a cross bracket that I mounted on the outer bumper, inner support.
Nice thing about the Perlux is that I can choose many different lamps and wattages. They take a Par 46 lamp or the same size as a 4 headlight system does. I am looking into a set of 5 3/4 inch Euro style headlamps that take a H-4 High-low lamp and was thinking of setting them to have either beam as needed for fog or for far lighting.

So, Do they look okay??

In my Opinion they look out of place but you know what . It's your truck and if you like em that;s all that matter's

I had a set of those back in '73-they were state of the art... ... ... ... ... then. Now there are better lights that use less current. Notice the truckers no longer use them like the old days

I hear you on the power draw. That's why I was looking into replaceable bulb sealed beams and run some 50-70 watt halogen bulbs. The set I have to install are NOS

Motorhead, I would have to say that those look out of place on your truck, at least from the sideview.

While the dual beam fog/driving lights that I used are no longer made, I DID retrfoit a pair of Warn SDB- 160HDE Dual Beam fog/driving lights recessed completely INTO the oem fog location. I was even able to reinstall the factory fog light bezels. In fact I used the oem fog mounting bracket, so that I still have full adjustablity up and down with the oem adjustment screw. It was ALOT of small, cusotm fabrication work to make it all fit and work, but I love the results... with the Warn fogs on, I get a normal fog light spread in front of and to the sides of the truck, supplementing the oem headlights, and when I flick Warn the driving beam relay, it is like another set of headlights supplementing my oem headlights. I DO get flashed if I try to drive with the Warn driving beams on, but NOTwith the Warn fog beams on, Like I said it is a VERY stealth set-up, entirely within the bumper. I can post some pics if you'd like. They DO still make the SDB-160 driving/spot beam lights, but I'd imagine that you'll get flashed if you try to run them evn from that low down location.

All that being asid, what kinds of beams are you trying to mount in that location??

Perhaps I could send you some info on other lights that would fully insert into that lcoation without too much work. I know taht Hella makes some quality halogen projector modules that would tuck right in there. In fact, Mat4000 did a write-up on them here on TDR.

I'll try to get around to it tomorrow, but if I don't, Saturday is my anniversary, (so no time with the truck. . lol),but definitely on Sunday, I'' shoot a few, maybe night pics too, to show beam spread. Still curious what kind of beams you want down there??

Thanks. How many years with your better half? I just want some good light when I drive at night where I live. A lot of deer. I am going to figure out a way to have the fogs stay on with the high beams. What I really need to do for that would be to find a Dodge tech that would re-program them to I believe Canadian standards. I also want something that everyone doesn't have on their trucks.

I'd rather be on a golf course during a thunderstorm than under that truck with those ramps supporting the front end. They may be OK for your Mercedes, no way would I trust them under that Ram.

Chris, here are some pics of the lights on the front of my truck.

AS you can see, the Warn dual beam lights that I installed are completely recessed in the oem fog location...

While very bright ALL of the KC 130 watt lights on the Defiant light bar are superfluous (read off road use only... lol), with the lighting that the dual beam Warns provide on top of the Factory lights. In other words, I COULD take off the light bar and still have EXCELLENT forward lighting.

I'll try to take some pics of the later tonight so you can see for yourself.

In the meantime, check out this link for for some parts that might work for you--

OK... just ran outside and took some live shots. The bushes that you see are about 40' away. I wish I had taken some down the road so you coiuld see the throw of the different lights, but in any case, you can at least see the relative brightness of the different lights... ALL shots were taken with the camera resting on the steering wheel facing directly forward through the windshield .
