Hi everybody. I had a unnerving experience yesterday. Tell me what you think.
I have a 98-1/2 Ram with the 24V engine, five speed manual, 4X4. 93,340 miles.
Yesterday I'm driving along at 45mph when all of a sudden I lose all engine power, and the warning lights come on. I pull over to the side of the road and notice that the engine is still running at idle. I shut the truck off and restart, no problem. All the warning lights are out except the check engine light.
Have plenty of oil and oil pressure so I drove it home with no further incident. This morning I took it to the dealer with the check engine light on, but it runs fine.
Service tech. said it might be a fuel pick up pump.
What do you all think so I can tell the tech?
