What every shop "needs"

This is what my shop "needed"... so what are your favorite shop necessities?

Fridge? Stove? Microwave? TV? Internet? Urinal? Sink?#ad

I Need a Lift I hate crawling around on my back under car's But then again I would also need a Pit under the lift cause they don't make them go high enough so a Tall person can work on a car

I'm 6'3 and I assume the rock star position while under our lift ( feet about 3 1/2 ft apart, jammin' on a guitar... ) and it works just fine. It's WAAAAY better than crawling around on my scooter!

More special tools than the job needs.

Your Father's hand tools as a starter set.

A really big screwdriver that NEVER ever gets used to turn a screw.

6 point sockets, exclusevly.

A wall collection of Ridgid Tool calendars.



Nice addition on the phone booth, got us on that one.

What a good shop needs is more space for all the tools and toys you accumulate over the years.

You guys are too serious. What does your shop "need"?... As in what things do you need to put in your shop for no other reason other than to make you smile?

Some neat things I've seen... A wood stove built out of a Jaguar engine, a cold war storeroom under the shop floor, fridge packed with pickled items and beer...

my wife's dad and grandpa have an old soda machine in there shop. guess what comes out when you press the pepsi button. beer. :-laf the mountain dew button beer,:-laf you get the idea. that and their flat screen tv with direct tv hooked up. couple must haves for every shop.

Every shop needs the simple things in life,Coffee maker, fridge, stereo with speakers spread in each corner, a hammock strung up.

Mine would need a walk through shower, never have left my truck or boat and been clean. I would like an armored room with gun ports if I had the money, but that might go in the basement for when the gubment comes. Instead of a soda machine, how about a dog that can fetch, all your buddies would like that. Lastly, two sets of everything, because whats the use of having buddies if they always grab the tool you are using. BTW, I love the hammock idea, maybe a porch on the workshop to enjoy them.

In my shop, I have a full kitchen with gas range, three refrigerators, a clothes washer and dryer, a deep freezer, a spare bedroom, full bathroom with custom tile shower and an office. Recent additions are a 16' x 16' stage, LED DMX controlled dance lighting and a sawdust dancefloor for a party. Of course I would love to have a vehicle lift and should have installed a urinal. A forklift is sure handy around the shop, as is 3 phase power and plenty of lighting. I have 107 2 and 3 lamp 4 foot fluorescent lights, salvaged and refurbished from a cotton mill and an old warehouse. A commercial air compressor, portable diesel powered welder/generator, diesel powered portable air compressor and diesel portable pressure washer are also necessities!

Lighting and country music/dancing are my other "passions", so here they are put to good use in my shop. The band singing this song played on this stage last Saturday.
