Competition What happens when you make more power than your drivetrain can tollerate.

Competition How much horsepower does this have?

Problem is, this is the "heavy duty" stuff. We have ripped apart Strange stuff as well. It's what happens when you leave, as Keating puts it, "on kill". MW is coming out with some new stuff the first of next year that is 60% stronger. Lets hope... . I know this is getting expensive.

Heheeh! Yet another gasser company that does not understand TORQUE!!!

I wish I had $1 for everytime I have heard, " It holds a 1000 HP alcohol motor, your 600 isn't nothing. "

Yes, but will it hold twice the tq at half the rpms?

"Duh-what?"

Snap. :-laf :D

Ok Mark Williams make most every drive line part in the racing world , this in my opinion is a problem with pinion angle. When you launch it is imperative that the angles must be the same. Now if you line every thing up at rest and the suspension components flex in a way you don’t think of you will get misalignment. And broken U joints . those are not the Pro Mod billet U joints that I use. No sleddie , the diesel world dose not know the kind of torque that Pro Mod motors make , I have seen 2600 HP and 2200 foot pounds of torque , from a Nitrous motor , and the Blown motors make 3100 hp with about 2500 fpt . and use the same Mark Williams parts . the clutch is also not the problem, because a Trans braked torque converter is just as violent. If you want to see the top of the line tractor pullers , why aren’t they diesel sleddie

Hmmm... like "unbreakable" input shafts?

Greg,

If you think gas power is so much better than diesel, why are you even building your truck with a Cummins  Or for that matter even posting here

You know FOR A GUY WHO KNOWS SO MUCH I would have thought COmp would be more apt to pick up on sleddys at 1/2 the speed comment. You dont think that plays into it do you????????

That’s a Power glide input, with Th400 splines , and I would not run one of those behind a Pro Mod motor either , but if you will look close you will see that the oil hole is part of the reason they break, I'm also guessing that’s a Valasco shaft , the new Margian shaft with smaller oiling holes will stand up to a lot more . Ive broke a few of thewm also . that Why I run a Bruno Lenco .

This is not about gas or diesel , but sleddie is a sled puller , and will never understand drag racing , or the parts we use , his kind are trying to catch up with me , its about weight , weight , and calculated risk for more efficient and lighter parts. But when he starts bad mouthing one of the pillars of drag racing , about something he is totally ignorant about , I just have to put him is his place , dragging something heavy around in the dirt. This entire hullabaloo about the diesel being the king of torque is just a bunch of crap, the math will set you free. Torque is torque, and parts don’t care what the motor making it is burning. If I put twice the first gear in my 358 small block truck motor it will put out twice the torque , and more then the same hp Cummins motor to the u joint

Example

Keating 1000 hp truck at the 4500 + rpms he launches makes a peak of 1167 foot pounds of torque just say he has a 2. 50 first gear , that would be 2900 to the U joint

Pro Stock car, 1380 hp @ 8400 equals 862 foot pounds of torque with a 3. 30 first gear for a total of 2847 to the joint

Now a Pro Mod 2500 hp at 6800 rpms peak of 1930 and a 2. 50 first gear for a total at the u joint of 4800 foot pounds of torque . now you work with the math .

I don't know of anyone trying to catch up to you COMP, you don't exist in the Diesel world, and none of the gassers care what you do anywhere else.

Yep the math will set you free, along with with the high rpm gasser parts, sets them free right out of the car. :D :D

Face it, Greg, you STILL don't understand Diesels.

We just don't know that Comp, sorry.

I believe you have to race against someone before you can declare victory.

I mean, I can hook to a sled anywhere in the country, and declare a full pull, if noone else is around.

1/4 times are the same- they don't mean jack, unless its same track, same day, side by side.

For all we know, you were on a downhill track with perfect air.

I'm still not sure your truck has went down any track, I've never seen a video. :-laf

thats why I'm faster then you pulling buddys

You finaly made a statement I can agree with. Your truck probably is faster than a pulling truck------its the other drag trucks that are gonna get ya.

You donkey, you can't proclaim your self as a "pillar" of anything, the community is who decides who is a pillar and who isn't, and I have yet to see anybody refer to you like that. If they have, show me and I will apologize to you. Anything you may have done, or will ever do, is dwarfed by your arrogance and that is a perfect example of it. There is no chance in hell that your a "pillar" of drag racing, and for us (not you) to even consider you a "pillar" of diesel drag racing is a stretch at this point.
