TDR Magazine

Lot's of discussion on various theads about "real men". Comments like "real men like a noisy diesel" or "real men want a 4WD that's real tall", etc.

In your opinion, what is a "real man"?

Flame on. :-{}

A real man...

Is one that takes all the cr@p his wife can dish out and not blow is head off. He knows when to say, "yes dear... that's fine," or, "yes, you are right dear. " And lots of other things very similar. I could go on, but 'The Warden,' has summoned me (yes dear, I'm coming). :{

A real man:

Is honest, keeps his word, loves and is faithful to his wife, trusts in The Lord, isn't ashamed to cry, does what is right and honorable, is big enough to admit his mistakes and then trys to correct them, is there for (whenever possible) and provides for his family, does his best at all times in everything he does. He doesn't fool around, lie, cheat, or steal. He's earned the respect of other men!

Wcaldwell you took ALL the words out of my mouth. Especially a man's word should be solid and trustworthy... . not much of that these days :( . Take care of that beautiful family, all of you.

Wayne summed it up pretty well for me.

My goal in life is to have made a difference in the lives of some of the people I have met while here on earth, ... for some to say that their life is better because I was here. I don't want to be famous or important, but to just make a (positive) difference.

That's a hard one.

I just want to WORK HARD, love my wife, and hopefully raise some kids that can be a positive influence on society.

I'm blue collar, and believe a man is only worth what he has worked for.

I love it when I go into a jewelry store or something and tell them what I want to buy. When I wanted to buy a diamond necklace for my Mom, the lady asked me if I wanted a real diamond or a cubic zironia. I politely asked what a cubic zirconia was, and she explained that it was a fake diamond, as she looked at the concrete on my jeans and boots. I said that my Mom wasn't fake, why would I want a fake diamond? She said that she would have to have a 10% deposit to order the necklace, I told her I wanted to pay for it all right now, and would cash be OK. The look on her face was priceless.

Sorry, had to vent a little.

A REAL man is one that can look his wife in the eye and say "I'm going to spend a couple thousand MORE dollars on my truck" when he knows she carrys a gun" :--)

BTW: Tell her that on her birthday knowing you havent bought her a present.

Yes I'm that stupid :rolleyes:

I kinda like the way Texas Bix puts it:

"The code Of The West... ask no more, expect no less

Honesty

Courage

Loyalty

Generosity

Fairness"

Does it for me!
