Is this like the east coasters that are running 1000 hp but cant find their way to a dyno? Insofar as I know no one is running in the 600s yet on a common rail truck. Notice I said "yet".

I have no idea what mine is going to do, as it's still being put together (waiting on the o-ringed head from Piers)... . But here's what it has:

Piers twin turbos (3tb hx40)

ATS exhaust manifold

5" downpipe to ? (still trying to decide if I want to reduce down to my existing 4" system)

DD Pusher pump

TST PMCR

Also have an Edge EZ laying around that I might stack

Piers designed twin turbo AFE intake

ATS Stage V transmission

Once I get the head back (supposed to ship tomorrow) we'll be putting the twins in. Can't wait to see how she does!

with pier's twins can you change the oil filter or have you relocated it??????

I have no idea - the motor is sitting on the shop floor, waiting for the head. I'll be sure to let you know when it goes back in, though.

BCarmicle,

Whose twins are you runnin'? Do you like 'em, did they help EGT's, do you tow w/ 'em, what kinda boost do you see???????

I"m running a custom set of twins made by Olee Poole in NC. The twins are a little more laggy than I expected. They did help cool the egt's and on my dyno run the egt's were right at 1400 with boost around 60lbs. I've seen 70lbs. of boost and don't really want to see anymore to save the head gasket but could probably hit 80lbs. if I pushed it. I don't tow at all with them, but maybe in the future.

Last fall when I was at PDR I rode in an 03' with 2 stage injectors, a Van Aaken box, PDR O-ring head and the PDR 40/3B twins (the ones on his site for an 03') at that time the truck was at almost 500 with a 40 he then went to the Twins.

Lag, what lag, were talking a tiny puff of smoke... ... I mean tiny and max egts were 1100 at 50 psi.

Later he added water injection that put it around 620. Yep it's a Canada guy!

transmission... ... DTT!

On drugs I know of half a dozen or so trucks in TX that are over 600 ponies. It is really not all that difficult to do even on a single. A simple pressure module, good injectors and a shot of air in a bottle and there ya have it. I think it is agreed that 500hp is simple to obtain using a B1 or similar turbo on diesel. A simple N20 kit will add 100hp if there is that much fuel available.

We did 619 almost 2 years ago now! We sold that truck and are working on the new ones so we have not had time to see how much we can get out of them now that technology has caught up a little bit.

BCarmicle,

Did you stud and/or O-ring/Fire ring your head for the twins? I should have my turbos in a couple weeks, and I'm thinking about throwing in a set of studs at the same time to keep the head on. Thanks,

John

You can add a lot of power to your lawnmower with nitrous. When I spoke to Harry up at Piers even he was not claiming the one truck as being over 600 as they were not able to reproduce it. All the other runs went in the 580ish range. It is no problem taking these things up to the cp3 limit and many have done so already. That appears to be the upper 500s sans drugs. It may be that someone has cracked 6 and someone will soon enough if they havent. I sure havent heard of it yet and you would think folks would be talking.

You can get spanked by a truck on Nitrous too. Does that mean he cheated or does it just mean you got spanked?

I never have understood the all #2 purist mentallity? Seems if you had big enough turbos you could make as much power as the Nitrous it would just be less drivable. The bottle is only good if you have the fuel.

I am sure someone has broke 600 on #2 though, they might not want to talk about it? There are some people I gave advise to on getting the power on #2, but so far I don't think they have tried it? It won't be long and there will be advancement to get the fuel there.

Yep, all true and it makes no difference to me how someone makes their power. The question however was on #2 and as of yet no one has at least publicly exceeded the 600 mark. A lot of guys like Don M who have the goods (outside of the cp3/rail) to provide the fuel to exceed that number have failed due to the cp3 limit. Its not exactly a secret what the wall is right now. I am in complete agreement... someone will soon enough jump that hoop. Maybe you?
