The old throw it on the wall, scenario seems to work. And why not? It you are in no hurry to get rid of your ride, then why not do a little fishing. We have many CTD in the areas where I am from, and most do hold there re-sale value, but not as well as in some of you guys parts. I had just gotten the local trader and it was filled with 98 and newer CTD's. The 12V's seem to be rare, looks like people are holding on to them. There was a nice 2500 red CTD, it looked very straight and clean. It was a 2001 and they were asking 16,500. , I guess that was cheap compared to others I have read about. It is nice to know they keep there value, thu I do not believe I will ever sell mine. I have to much fun adding things and driving it around. Anyone can get a new stock truck, they are a dime a dozen. But take a well kept first gen, and it really stands out in the crowd. I am not a big fan of the beaters, or rust buckets. But I do like a nicely done first gen, they have a real truck look. I ordered my truck in spring on '96, and took possession on 10/14/96. I have had it too long to let it go. Starting last fall, I went Thur the whole truck and replaced most wear parts. Hoses, belts, batteries, auto trans, brakes, etc. Then added bumpers, wheels tires, turbo, water injection, and so one. Now it sets at the dealers body shop getting a new paint job, along with a new cowl injection hood. Too date I have spent $37,988. 00 on updates and improvements, I believe I gave around $37,000. 00 for the truck new. So for me, selling it is out of the question.
