my '03 is getting 11. 5 to 13. 5 towing 11200 lb 5er . The first two years I had the truck I had a 110 mi a day work commute. The truck ran 21-22 mpg tank after tank and it didn't make any difference if I ran 75-80 on turnpike or ran 60-65 on old two lane hiway 66. The best tank on the hiway on long trip running empty was 23. 7 mpg. This truck is getting about two mpg better than the '01 235/460 auto that I had previously. All pencil figuers... ... ..... JIM

so far I like my 3rd gen 05 . It has seen a best of 21. 5-22 mpg also. I previously had an 03 dually that got 18. 5 mpg. So far both trucks have been great

My '03 SO 4x2 gets between 21-23mpg during mostly highway driving, dependant on the speeds. Freeway driving (70-75mph) gets me 21, and normal highway driving (60-65) gets 23. I just drove 350 miles of intertstate on Friday and the overhead averaged 21. 6. Around town it drops to around 18-19mpg.

I upgraded from a 1st Gen Club Cab, and the difference is night and day with less noise, a smoother ride, better brakes, and good access to the rear seat. I really enjoy my '03, and it is the most practical vehicle I've ever owned.

Our 04. 5 averages 20-21 mpg on the hwy mt if it is kept at 70 mph or 2000 rpm or less. Over over 2000 rpm there is a dramatic drop. Its the way you drive them. With our 26' Alpenlite 5vr, we average 13-14 mpg. We do not go over 58-60 here in California.

I own several trucks... my 04 has never been through a tank of fuel without pulling a trailer that weighs between 15-18K lbs. . in 130K miles its averaged about 11. 7 MPG pulling the pacific northwest..... to Edmonton Canada, and San Diego from Spokane...

the 05 has only 25K miles and its had 2 tanks that were without a trailer... . about 16 MPG without the trailer and 11. 4 with the trailer.....

In the 14mos. that I've had my '04. 5 I've done one empty mileage test. I drove like a grandma for a weekend. Got 17. 5mpg. Not bad for an 8200lb beast.

20-21 highway empty cruising at 68mph, When newer and without the bombs I was getiing 18-19mpg at same speed. At 75 seems to drop off about 2 mpg.

If I baby it I might get 14 in the city, average milage is around 12mpg city and 16 on highway. I averaged 10mpg when I towed my trailer to the Mopar Nats last year.

I get anywhere from 9. 5 towing to as much as 21 empty at 60 - 65 on the freeway. Usually get 19 or so commuting. I'm thrilled with the milage.

With my 04 2500 (305 hp) 4x4 6-speed, long bed, Quad Cab, Laramie with a 3:73 rear end. I average 20-22mpg on long trips and 17-19 around town and on my daily commute to work.

Solid 18 to 19. 5 depending on humidity, moon phase, and mood. I drive between 19. 5 and 2K rpms. I've actually have gotten 22 twice, but the trips were 49 mph National Park trips (45 speed limit) going back and forth, back and forth, ad infinitum (also may have been a "how much fuel you put in fluke).

610 miles

New 05, 610 miles, 15. 9 mpg mostly city. Love this truck. Dumped a lemon 2003 chevy 2500. Piece of Sh_-. Totally different world now... . WOW

18. 0 - 20. 0 mpg empty depending on speed and 12. 5 towing 8000# on an open trailer with a flat gate like a billboard. overall not too bad for a 4x4 with larger than stock tires.
