:D Iv used the search on this site and can't find what Im looking for so now I am asking for a little help please. I have been having trouble withe my engine having a stumble and am at WAR with the dealer with it cause they wont take a fuel pressure reading they just want to hook up there computer and thats all. So I need to know what kind of gauge and schrader vavle connecter I nee to make my own hook up and what psi should a stock engine have for fuel I see there is a lot of different readings here. I want to try to do it to day. Thanks. :)

I did it this way. I used an old air conditioner connection and a short piece of its hose. I used a 15 psi gauge I got from a supply company called MSC for less than $10. Extend the hose with cheap plastic tubing to reach in the cab. You have to remove the valve stem to get it to work. My pressure was about 10 psi at idle and 7 driving wide open.

I purchased my mechanical fuel pressure gauge from TDR member BriarHopper for $60.

This included a 0-30 PSI gauge and a 5' a/c charging hose that connects directly to any of the 'schrader' type test points on your truck. (I think there's three) I then actually used his idea and hooked up a 5' a/c charging hose to my electronic Westach sending unit for my fuel pressure gauge from the final VP44 test port. I now just use my mechanical gauge once in a while to make sure my electronic sending unit is accurate.

Yes-- -04AN will work, #4 tube is probably a little better-- the only difference is the angle of the flange-- 45° for tube, 37° for AN. Run an adapter from this fitting to 1/8" NPT and then grease gun hose and you're set.

Be VERY Careful not to overtighten the adapter to the Schrader. . there's not many threads engaged, and it's easy to strip it. Using BRASS fittings will help protect you, since the brass fitting sill strip before the Schrader will.

Better yet, junk the whole stock fuel line setup and go to AN and socketless.
