What kind of work boots do you wear?

It's time for a new pair of boots. I have been wearing Chippewa loggers for years, but they just don't seem to last as long as I would like them too, nor are they quite waterproof enough.



What do you guys prefer? Red Wing? Timberland?...



I want something that is pretty much waterproof, insulated, and has steel toe.

I love my danners, though they don't make them like they used too. There was a thread on this recently, i think wellington's seemed to be the one everyone liked. I have several different pairs, but i like my danners the best.

Carolina... that's my opinion but I still have a lot of boots to try yet. Carolinas are great on concrete which is where i spend most of my time.

Danner's for me also until about a year ago when I ordered the same style I had been wearing for years and they changed to made in China cheap junk. I sent them back and I'm now wearing high priced but should last forever White's. http://www.whitesboots.com/boots.php

The most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn were Redwings. Very good construction but painful. The most comfortable boots I have on right now. Caterpillar made by Wolverine. I had two pair of $80 ankle highs. They last about a year. I've had a $140 pair for three years. Just about ready to replace. The toes are ANSI Z41 rated and made of a lighter material than steel. I work with electricity so I try to avoid conductive safety equipment.

I wear Cat/Wolverines, been pretty happy with them, have had 2 different pairs, first went 4 years with daily use! This set's only at 4 months, but they are great. They are fairly cheap plus I can get size 15 without a problem

Wolverine Dura shock boots. I am on my feet most of 12 hrs. These boots are comphy.

Wolverines or Justins..... I prefer the wolverines but I haven't had a problem with either ones.

Personally I like the Redwings. I've had them for four years now, wearing them for 9 hours a day. The first week is a bugger while you break them in, but after that, they are great.



I'm wearing mine in an industrial setting, lots of oil and grime. Still waterproof-

I have Wolverine DuraShocks right now. i bought them almost 3 years ago and they are still fine although they look horrible from working in them. I didn't get the steel toes though but I am extremely satisfied with them. I think my next pair are going to be Justin. I have a pair of Justin pull-up's (not training pants thank you) and they are more comfortable than the Wolverines. Going on 4 years on them and still going strong. Most of my work involves construction work, working cows on my friend's ranch, hunting, and rodeo.

Carolinas and Wolverine, walk all day on concrete and not a problem, love em.

Dunhams work for me. I get the ones that are imported from Canada and have the red soles. They don't have an aggressive pattern to the sole so I don't track mud into the house.

I'm lucky my work boots are considered "safety equipment" so the city must buy them. We have several to choose from and my favorite (of the choices) is the Danner, they have a Gore-Tex liner and steel toe/shank.



If I was buying I would look at the Whites, maybe they are Nicks whichever, that you can have the steel or some super plastic material toe added. Sure they are spendy but you can rebuild them and they are so comfy.

I use to wear Redwings all the time, but the last ten years went to the Wolverine Dura Shocks/ last pair, I bought I tried the (squealers), and have been impressed how they are holding up, on the second year now, and still in great shape. Oo.

I have some Whites. They are really good handmade boots from Spokane Washington. But they are expensive, however some models can be rebuilt. I just sent off a pair to be rebuilt, but haven't got them back yet.
